Does Far Cry 6 Have New Game Plus?

Wondering what to do after beating Far Cry 6? The answer depends on how you play.

Does Far Cry 6 have New Game Plus? It’s a normal question to ask when most games give you the option to start again with all your equipment intact, but Far Cry 6 doesn’t take a normal approach to it. Instead of giving you traditional New Game Plus, you get a new mode that changes weekly, with chances to earn special currency and weapons.

Far Cry 6 New Game Plus

Again, no, Far Cry 6 doesn’t have New Game Plus. Once you finish the story, you spawn again in Yara with everything you had when you cleared the last mission, and you can take on any side quests or raid bases you didn’t take care of during the main campaign. Ubisoft could add New Game Plus in a future update, though there’s no indication whether that’s planned so far.

The main draw after beating Far Cry 6 is Insurgency mode.

Postgame Insurgency mode

Insurgency unlocks once Castillo’s reign ends. Dani must fight against a new set of rebels, dissidents from Castillo’s army who refuse to surrender. There’s a new contested area each week, and it’s your job to take it from the rebels in pretty much the same way you did during the main campaign.

The difference is you get better rewards this time. Insurgency always rewards you with Moneda, a rare currency for use in Lola’s Black Market, but you’ll also get other rare items and even new weapons, depending on the mission.

Of course, you won’t have much use for them once you clear every mission and quest in Yara, what with no new game plus. It’s worth leaving a fair few quests unfinished as you move into Esperanza to dethrone Castillo, just so you have a reason to use your new items after the campaign is over.
