Here's how to complete the Readvent of Calamity quest in Dragon's Dogma 2.

The Readvent of Calamity quest is a crucial step before you can start romancing Ulrika in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Here, I’ll provide you with a step-by-step guide on how to complete the Readvent of Calamity quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2, including all the locations and rewards.

The Readvent of Calamity quest becomes available only after you complete at least one of Captain Brant’s quests. But I must also warn you that you shouldn’t progress any further with the “Feast of Deception” main story mission, or you may miss the opportunity not only to complete the “Readvent of Calamity” quest but also to romance Ulrika.

Step 1: Help Villagers Repel the Dragon

The entire quest begins with a fierce battle against the dragon in the Melve Village, which I marked on the map below. Then, follow these steps:

  1. Arrive at Melve Village in the northern part of the map.
  2. Speak to the local villagers and agree to help them repel the dragon who’s been terrorizing the village.
  3. Note that you don’t need to kill the dragon, but simply reduce its HP to 50%, and it’ll leave the villagers alone.
  4. Use ranged weapons, such as Bows or Anathema Staff, if you play as a Sorcerer.
  5. Target blisters around the dragon’s body to quickly reduce its HP and keep your distance from its fire breath.

Step 2: Speak to Ulrika and Lennert

Once you are able to repel the dragon, speak to Ulrika and Lennert, who will thank you for your assistance. At this point, I wouldn’t linger around. Simply leave the village and return the next day. Then, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Ulrika’s house and speak to her again.
  2. She’ll offer you to stay overnight at her house, to which you should agree.
  3. Speak to Lennert the next morning.
  4. He’ll tell you that Ulrika left Melve, so be sure to agree to help find her.

Step 3: Find Ulrika After Disappearance

It appears that Ulrika left for Harve village in the southern part of the map (see the map above for location). She’ll be standing in the center of the village, and once you spot her, do the following:

  1. Speak to Ulrika and ask her why she left Melve.
  2. She’ll tell you the story of being apprehended by other villagers.
  3. To complete the “Readvent of Calamity” quest, return to Melve and tell Lennert that Ulrika is safe at Harve village.

As soon as you report to Lennert, you’ll be rewarded for your effort with some fine items, including a ring that reduces stamina cost, and be able to progress through Ulrika’s romance storyline. Here’s what you’ll get:

  • 2,000 XP
  • 4,500 Gold
  • Ring of Grit
