One survivor's trash is another survivor's deadly traps in the zombie apocalypse. We will teach you everything you need to know about crafting in Dying Light 2.

You need to make your own items. That means finding recipes (blueprints), parts, and putting in the work to make what you need. This Dying Light 2 guide shows you how to craft, and how to find new crafting blueprints.

How to Craft Items, Consumables, and Accessories in Dying Light 2

Crafting in Dying Light 2 begins with blueprints. You can’t make something if you don’t know how. Early in Dying Light 2 you start with the blueprints to create a simple health kit. These blueprints and recipes can be viewed in your menu, in the crafting category. Each recipe will be listed, with the parts and ingredients required displayed when you hover over them.

The crafting resources needed to craft items will need to be found. Look everywhere. They can be inside containers, among the deceased, and in shops scattered around Villedor. Places like Dark Hollows and Forsaken Stores contain the most valuable and hard-to-find crafting parts — and deadly infected.

Once you have all the things you need, open your inventory and navigate to the crafting tab. Put your cursor over the recipe you wish to use, and you will see two options. You can assemble a single item or the max number that your ingredients will allow. Hold down the confirm button, and after a moment, your newly formed items will appear in your inventory, ready to heal you or unleash hell on an unsuspecting Viral or Howler.

How to Get More Blueprints to Craft More Items

Crafting medicine and lockpicks is nice and all (you’ll need both to survive and acquire inhibitors and rare gear), but the zombie apocalypse is more fun with homemade hand grenades or special modifications to make your lead pipe set your enemies on fire.

You will want to track down new blueprints for more good times sooner rather than later. Thankfully, these are easy to come by. It just takes money.

Each region of Villedor has hubs. These are areas like the Bazaar or the Fish Eye where you can rest, accept quests, and engage in commerce. One of the vendors is the Craftsman, indicated with a wrench and hammer icon. Find them, and spend your Old-World money on blueprints.

The costs can add up, but it is well worth the investment. You can also upgrade them at Craftmasters, making them more powerful and useful.

And that’s how to craft items in Dying Light 2. Your life in the world of the Infected is what you make of it, so you may as well make it one with hand grenades and stat buffs. Once you perfect that, consider adding some mods to your weapons or getting your hands on a paraglider. For more tips on staying human, head over to our Dying Light 2 guides hub.
