“The Riddle of Futility” is a tough quest where you have to carry a vase all the way to Bakbattahl. All the Saurians and Harpies roaming around can complicate this drastically. So, here’s an easy way to solve the “Riddle of Futility” in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
How to Complete Riddle of Futility Easily in Dragon’s Dogma 2
I found an incredibly easy and cheesy way to solve “The Riddle of Futility” in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Instead of carrying the vase, do the following:
- Don’t pick up the vase.
- Place a Portcrystal near the Sphinx.
- Go to Bakbattahl.
- Go to the location in the picture below to find Maurits.
- Pick him up with Grab.
- Use a Ferrystone and teleport to the Sphinx Portcrystal.
- Place Maurits next to the vase.
This causes Maurits to recognize the vase and react. The riddle will then count as solved. You can now talk to the Sphinx again. This method is drastically easier than actually carrying the vase manually to Bakbattahl and having it broken by a random encounter. Furthermore, it’s not as cheesy as you may think since we are outsmarting the riddle, which is kind of the point of riddles and Sphinxes.
I would just make sure you have Portcrystal and at least one Ferrystone at the ready. I had two so I wouldn’t have to walk to Bakbattahl to fetch Maurits. Just make sure to use the Ferrystone fast enough after you grab him in the city because NPCs will automatically break the grapple after a while. That and under no circumstance do you need to pick up the vase. Just bring Maurits to it.
That’s it for my easy way to solve “The Riddle of Futility” in Dragon’s Dogma 2. For more Dragon’s Dogma 2 guides, check out our endgame checklist or visit our Dragon’s Dogma 2 guides hub.
