Skyline Valley is the first map expansion for Fallout 76. It brings with it new events, random encounters, enemies, and a main storyline that introduces Vault 63. For those looking to dive right into the new content, this is how to start the Skyline Valley story quest line in Fallout 76.
How to Begin An Unlikely Invitation — Skyline Valley Main Story Quest
As with other new storylines, the Skyline Valley main quests kick off with your Pip-Boy picking up a radio broadcast. Open the device and select the Vault-Tec Broadcast to have “An Unlikely Invitation” populate in your journal.
Upon listening to the radio, you’ll have a set of coordinates added to your map. You’re directed to The Forest region, to an area east of the Wayward. When you reach the location, speak with the new NPC, Alyssa. She’ll provide you with further instructions, namely, how to get to Vault 63.
Head to Vault 63, where you’ll find a giant hole where the vault door used to be. The vault is to the west of Garrahan Estate and northwest of Hornwright Testing Site #03. Walk to the hole to complete “An Unlikely Invitation” and start the next part of the Skyline Valley story, “Into Lands Unknown.”
Alternatively, if you already have it on your map, you can travel right to the vault and skip returning to The Forest.
An Unlikely Invitation Rewards
The biggest reward for completing “An Unlikely Invitation” is the new Pip-Boy skin, Pip-Boy 2000 Burnt Paint. This is the first of the new Burnt outfit line found in Skyline Valley. You’ll also receive:
- XP
- Plasma Grenade
- x50 Caps
- x3 Stimpaks
- Radaway
- Purified Water
That’s how to start “An Unlikely Invitation” in Fo76. For more on the new region, delve into our Fallout 76 guides vault.
