If you’re trying to rush to 50 in a Disciple of the Hand, you better get to it before the Final Fantasy XIV 2.1 patch on Tuesday. The patch notes are out, and high quality turn-ins are getting a nerf.
The upcoming changes to tradecraft leves are mentioned as follows within the patch notes, which you can read on the Lodestone:
- New tradecraft leves have been added.
- New item rewards have been added to certain tradecraft leves.
- EXP awarded upon completing certain tradecraft leves has been increased.
- Bonus EXP awarded for handing in HQ items for tradecraft leves has been decreased.
What this means to you leve-grinders is that HQ turn-in leve grinding will be less efficient than now — if you’re looking for speed with your DoH levelling, you should try to get as far as you can now, before the experience nerf.
I will be updating all of my tradecraft leve guides as soon as I can get all of the required information, between Tuesday and Wednesday. We will be slightly out of date for at least the first half of the day Tuesday. Thank you for your patience.
That’s out of the way
Aside from the changes that will affect leve-grinders, the bits on tradecraft leves are definitely a plus.
More options in leves are always welcome, especially if they entail crafting furniture for the newly implemented free company housing system. The increase in XP rewards on particular leves is also welcome news, as some Disciples of the Hand have it a bit worse off than others when it comes to leve XP rewards.
There’s a lot to be excited about in the Final Fantasy XIV 2.1 patch notes, from the new battles to treasure hunting, but crafters should be aware that leve grinding will take a hit with this patch. Just how big of a hit is something we won’t find out until after Tuesday’s maintenance.
