Anti-Lag and Launch Control are two new Forza Horizon 5 features to release alongside the Rally Adventure DLC. doesn’t just add a new region for you to explore. The free Midnights at Horizon update brings these two features to all racers. Both work together to make for a more realistic racing experience, but you may be wondering what they are and how to use them.
Forza Horizon 5 Anti-Lag System Explained
The Forza Horizon 5 Anti-Lag system is usable as long as a car can be turbocharged. The system helps reduce or eliminate turbo lag. To enable it, head to any Horizon Festival Site or player home and go to:
- Upgrades & Tuning menu
- Custom Tuning
- Engine
This will tell you if your vehicle has Twin Turbo installed. If it does, look at the option for an Anti-Lag variant. However, if this option doesn’t appear, then you might need to go to the Conversion tab in case a Twin Turbo Aspiration swap exists.
Note that these tune-ups cost money. Likewise, if you downloaded a setup from another player, the Anti-Lag option might be locked, and you’ll have to remove it if you need to make additional customization.
Forza Horizon 5 Launch Control Explained
The Forza Horizon 5 Launch Control system ensures that you can gain an advantage at the start of each race. Go to Campaign -> Difficulty, and you should see that it’s enabled by default. Likewise, it should trigger automatically at the beginning of race events.
To use Launch Control in Forza Horizon 5 while free-roaming, stop your car so it’s stationary. Then, press and hold the keybinds/buttons for the E-brake and accelerate.
Once you let go of the E-brake, your car should speed up, which includes a turbo boost thanks to Launch Control. This should be of help in most activities, such as Drag Racing.
