There are 12 shield Ronds in God of War: Ragnarok, which are special attachments that may increase Kratos’ stats and provide him with additional offensive and defensive abilities. Many of these Ronds can be obtained as rewards for completing certain favors.
Our guide will provide you with a list of the best shield Ronds in God of War: Ragnarok, including tips on how to obtain them.
Rond of Obliteration
The Rond of Obliteration’s stats are as follows:
- Strength: 10
- Defense: 10
- Runic: 13
- Cooldown: 13
- Luck: 13
- Vitality: 13
This is the most powerful shield attachment in God of War: Ragnarok, as it not only buffs all of Kratos’ stats, but it also provides players with a ranged weaponry called Shards of the Valkyrie.
In order to use this weapon, players need to hold block for a few seconds, letting the shield charge, and then press Block + L3, releasing a volley of shards that will strike all enemies within a certain distance.
Rond of Obliteration can be used at Level 8, but it can be upgraded to level 9. Here are the upgrade requirements and stats.
- Level 9 Rond of Obliteration requires 14,000 Hacksilver, 30 Dust of Realms, 45 Shining Crystal and has the following stats:
- Strength: 11
- Defense: 11
- Runic: 14
- Cooldown: 14
- Luck: 14
- Vitality: 14
How to get Rond of Obliteration
When players finish the main story campaign of the game, they will gain access to one more boss: Gna.
Note that this is the hardest boss in the game, who can be found in a secret place at The Crucible in Muspelheim (indicated on the map above).
The entrance to this location can be found next to the Nornir Chest, and once you enter the area and pick up the book, the battle will begin.
In addition to Rond of Obliteration, players will also get The Queen’s Armor for Freya, and The Queen’s Roar runic summon.
Rond of Disruption
The Rond of Disruption’s base stats are as follows:
- Defense: 22
- Runic: 17
- Luck: 17
While Rond of Obliteration is focused on buffing all of Kratos’ stats, this shield attachment is mainly focused on defense and luck. It could be a good companion to either a low stat shield or an armor that is low on those specific stats.
Rond of Disruption also has a chance of creating an Elemental Storm, which is an AoE attack that can be used both offensively and defensively. Players need to double tap the Block button, and then Parry.
Rond of Disruption can be obtained at Level 7, but it can be upgraded to level 9. Here are the upgrade requirements and stats.
- Level 8 requires 10,000 Hacksilver, 15 Dust of Realms, 3 Luminous Alloy and has the following stats:
- Defense: 25
- Runic: 20
- Luck: 20
- Level 9 requires 14,000 Hacksilver, 30 Dust of Realms, 45 Shining Crystals and has the following stats:
- Defense: 29
- Runic: 23
- Luck: 23
How to get Rond of Disruption
This attachment can be obtained after completing “A Stag for All Seasons” favor, which requires players to gather all stags in Vanaheim.

Rond of Absorption
Rond of Absorption’s stats are as follows:
- Defense: 18
- Runic: 22
Here is another example of an offensive shield with strong base defenses. But unlike Rond of Disruption, this shield attachment is a lot easier to obtain.
Whenever players Block or Parry enemy attacks, Rond of Absorption automatically increases your Permafrost, Immolation, and Maelstrom skills.
How to get the Rond of Absorption
This attachment can be crafted as soon as you reach Level 6 for 1,000 Divine Ashes. If you wish to upgrade it further, then use the following materials:
- Level 7 requires 500 Divine Ashes and 1 Blazing Ember, and has the following stats:
- Defense: 22
- Runic: 26
- Level 8 requires 1,000 Divine Ashes and 2 Blazing Embers, and has the following stats:
- Defense: 25
- Runic: 30
- Level 9 requires 1,500 Divine Ashes, 45 Shining Crystals, 30 Dust of Realms and has the following stats:
- Defense: 29
- Runic: 34
Rond of Fortification
Rond of Fortification’s stats are as follows:
- Defense: 18
This shield Rond offers nothing but a solid defense that will help you improve your shield and armor.
It may not have any cool offensive tricks like the previous shields, but it does produce a strong explosion that stuns enemies, if you hold the block button for a few seconds.
Rond of Fortification starts at Level 6, just like Rond of Absorption, but it can be improved with:
- Level 7 requires 7,500 Hacksilver and 2 Luminous Alloy, and has the following stats
- Defense: 47
- Level 8 requires 15 Dust of Realms and 3 Luminous Alloy, and has the following stats:
- Defense: 55
- Level 9 requires 14,000 Hacksilver, 30 Dust of Realms, 45 Shining Crystals and has the following stats:
- Defense: 63
How to get the Rond of Fortification
You need to collect some Crystalline Fragments first, and then offer them at the Wishing Well in Vanaheim (indicated on the map above). One of the rewards will include this attachment.
Rond of the Nine Realms
Rond of the Nine Realms’ stats are as follows:
- Defense: 18
- Luck: 22
In addition to some very decent defense stats, Rond of the Nine Realms is practically a time machine, as it allows players to slow down enemies.
The Realm Shift effect can be easily achieved by simply parrying enemy attacks. Although it may not always work, the chance is still high.
Initially, Rond of the Nine Realms is available at Level 6, and then you can upgrade it using:
- Level 7 requires 7,500 Hacksilver and 2 Luminous Alloy, and has the following stats:
- Defense: 22
- Luck: 26
- Level 8 requires 10,000 Hacksilver, 3 Dust of Realms, and 15 Luminous Alloy, and has the following stats:
- Defense: 25
- Luck: 30
- Level 9 requires 14,000 Hacksilver, 30 Dust of Realms, 20 Fortified Remnants and has the following stats:
- Defense: 29
- Luck: 34
How to get the Rond of the Nine Realms
You will be rewarded with this shield attachment as soon as you complete the “For Vanaheim” favor, which requires players to find Birgir in Vanaheim (Birgir’s cave is indicated on the map above).
