Hogwarts Legacy talents provide various character boosts and allow you to personalize your playstyle in the Wizarding World. These upgradeable skills are split into five categories, each with different spells, curses, health bonuses, and other buffs. Talent trees start at Level 5, with more abilities unlocked at Levels 16 and 22. Below, we’ve collected a full Hogwarts Legacy talents list to act as your companion throughout your journey.
All Talents in Hogwarts Legacy
Spell Talents
There are 10 different spell talents that can be upgraded. Some of these boost spells learned around Hogwarts, making them more powerful.
Level 5 Unlocks
- Diffindo Mastery – Diffindo casts slice through enemies
- Incendio Mastery – A ring of fire will be cast at the player’s feet when casting
- Depulso Mastery – Depulso releases an additional blast around you
- Confringo Mastery – Confringo impacts product bolts that seek enemies
- Accio Mastery – Enemies near a target summoned by Accio will also be pulled
- Levioso Mastery – Enemies near a target affected by Levioso will also be affected by
Level 16 Unlocks
- Bombarda Mastery – Bombarda causes a massive explosion on impact
- Glacius Mastery – Hitting an enemy affected by Glacius will cause damaging shards to fly outward
Level 22 Unlocks
- Transformation Mastery – enemies struck with Transformation become an explosive object
Core Talents
Core talents increase character stats, like health and spell cooldown times. This category has the largest amount of upgrades, with 16 talents available.
Level 5 Unlocks
- Basic Cast Mastery – Basic casts reduce spell cooldown
- Protego Absorption – Successful Protego blocks contribute to the Ancient Magic meter
- Swift – Holding down Dodge allows you to vanish and reappear quickly
- Spell Knowledge 1 – Adds an additional spell set you can switch to
- Spell Knowledge 2 – Adds another additional spell set you can switch to
- Wiggenweld Potency 1 – Wiggenweld Potions heal to a greater effect
- Ancient Magic Throw Expertise – You can catch and throw disarmed weapons
Level 16 Unlocks
- Basic Cast Airborne Absorption – Basic Casts on airborne enemies will contribute more to the Ancient Magic meter
- Protego Expertise – blocking a spell with Perfect Protego will send two projectiles back
- Evasion Absorption – Successfully evading an unblockable attack with Dodge contributes to the Ancient Magic Meter
- Stupefy Mastery – Enemies struck with Stupefy remain stunned longer
- Wiggenweld Mastery 2 – Wiggenweld potions heal to a greater affect
- Revelio Mastery – Increases the range of Revelio
- Spell Knowledge 3 – Adds a third additional spell set you can switch to
Level 22 Unlocks
- Protego Mastery – Perfect Protego releases a blast that breaks enemy shields
- Stupefy Expertise – Stupefy deals damage on impact
Stealth Talents
The smallest of the talent trees, stealth only has 4 talents to select from.
Level 5 Unlocks
- Human Demiguise – Allows you to sprint when using Disillusionment
- Sense of Secrecy 1 – Enemies’ ability to detect you is reduced
Level 16 Unlocks
- Sense of Secrecy 2 – Enemies’ ability to detect you is further reduced

- Petrificus Totalus Mastery – Petrificus Totalus causes an area of effect that impacts nearby enemies
Dark Arts Talents
Filled with a variety of curses, the Dark Arts talent tree contains 10 different upgrades, adding curse elements to other normal spells. These will come in handy most in the Dark Arts Arena.
Level 5 Unlocks
- Disarming Curse – Enemies hit with Expelliarmus are cursed and take increased damage
- Stunning Curse – Stupefy causes enemies to be cursed and take increased damage
- Knockback Curse – Enemies hit with Flipendo are cursed and take increased damage
- Blood Curse – dealing damage to cursed targets deal damage to all cursed enemies
Level 16 Unlocks
- Crucio Mastery – Striking an enemy cursed by Crucio releases a projectile that curses a nearby enemy
- Imperio Mastery – An enemy cursed with Imperio causes other targets to be cursed with every strike
- Slowing Curse – Arresto Momentum curses enemies on impact and causes increased damage
- Enduring Curse – Cursed effect remains on enemies for longer
Level 22 Unlocks
- Avada Kedavra Mastery – Killing an enemy with Avada Kedavra kills all cursed enemies
- Curse Sapper – Defeating cursed enemies restore some health
Room of Requirement Talents
This tree features eight talents focusing on potion and magical vegetation upgrades.
Level 5 Unlocks
- Invisibility Potion Potency – Invisibility Potion lasts longer
- Fertiliser – For each Chinese Chomping Cabbage thrown, a second is generated and released at no cost
- Edurus Potion Potency – Drinking an Edurus Potion will make you invulnerable and cause enemy projectiles to deflect back to them
Level 16 Unlocks
- Maxima Potion Potency – Attacks do additional damage and break enemy shields
- Headache – the damage and duration of the Mandrake effect is increased
Level 22 Unlocks
- Focus Potion Potency – the duration of Focus Potion’s effect is increased when using any spell from a Spell Set is cast during use
- Noxious – Venomous Tentacular deals additional damage and breaks shields
- Thunderbrew Potency – the range and damage of the potion effect is increased greatly
