Solving the Clock Tower Puzzle

The first thing to know about solving the Clock Tower puzzle is that you will need to have either Arresto Momentum or Glacius unlocked in order to complete it as well as Alohomora. Both combat spells can be learned from Madam Kogawa by completing her assignments while Alohomora can be learned from Gladwin Moon in the Quest “The Caretaker’s Lunar Lament.”

Once you are able to unlock doors and have learned a spell from Madam Kogawa, you should head to the Clock Tower in the South Wing. When you look around the ground floor, you will see there is a gated door with the symbol of a Unicorn on it. Go stand on the side of the room with the entrance to the tower to your back and face up towards the pendulum. You can see there is a bar that the pendulum swings across with similar symbols on it.

Locate the Unicorn symbol on the far left side and use either Arresto Momentum or Glacius to stop the pendulum as it passes over that symbol. I found it was best to use Arresto Momentum to slow the pendulum down and then again as it was over the symbol. This will trigger the gates on the door to unlock, revealing some treasure.

Unlock one of the wooden doors on either side of the entrance arch to proceed upwards. On the next level you will need to repeat the process, but for the owl. This symbol is the second from the left on the pendulum bar. The door for this level of the tower is on the far left corner of the landing.

On the third level, go down the small set of stairs on the right side to find the gate door. This door needs to have the pendulum stopped on the symbol of two dragons, which is the 2nd from the left on the bar.

For the last door, head up the stairs, but go through the first wooden door you come upon. You should see the gated door across with a scarab symbol. You need to return to the 3rd level to stop the pendulum. Once done head back to the door to gain access.

With all the doors unlocked you will have completed Secret of Hogwarts. Check your challenges page to claim your reward. For help with completing the other two secrets of Hogwarts, check out our other Hogwarts Legacy guides.
