Honkai: Star Rail has a quickly growing roster of characters, many of them top-tier for one reason or another. The best DPS characters in the game, however, are so far beyond the rest of the options in their category that it’s hardly a contest. In this Honkai: Star Rail tier list, we’ll look at the most powerful DPS characters currently available.

S-Rank Honkai Star Rail DPS Characters

Acheron

  • Element: Lightning
  • Path: Nihility

For sheer damage potential, no other character in Honkai: Star Rail even comes close to what Acheron can dish out. Her kit is so strong she can brute force through content that would give any other character much more trouble. Her damage is almost all tied up in her Ultimate, but because using her Ult relies on applying debuffs rather than gathering energy, her teams are a bit restrictive, but that doesn’t stop her from being the best DPS in the game.

Jingliu

  • Element: Ice
  • Path: Destruction

Jingliu’s damage output is hands down some of the highest and most consistent in the game, and while using her in combat takes a bit of finesse, unlike Acheron, her overall barrier to entry is very low. She can fit into most team compositions, her damage is easy to get up, and she has few other restrictions. She’s probably an easier pickup than Acheron, even if her damage ceiling is lower.

Dan Heng: Imbitior Lunae

  • Element: Imaginary
  • Path: Destruction

New and Improved Dan Heng, Imbibitor Lunae Edition has his damage potential hamstrung only by his hunger for Skill Points, but against Imaginary-weak enemies, he’s by far the best option. Dan Heng: IL’s kit is all about empowering his Basic Attack to level three whenever possible, and even when modestly built, he can easily reach over 100k single-target damage.

A-Tier Honkai: Star Rail DPS Characters

Dr. Ratio

  • Element: Imaginary
  • Path: The Hunt

Dr. Ratio is surprisingly effective for costing players nothing to acquire. A master of follow-up attacks, and especially effective alongside his fellow IPC characters, Topaz and Aventurine, who also specialize in follow-ups. Dr. Ratio is also very straightforward to build: Crit Rate and Crit Damage with a side of Speed and Attack%, and you’re pretty much good to go.

Qingque

  • Element: Quantum
  • Path: Erudition

The original gambler of Honkai: Star Rail, Qingque has long flirted with being in the S-Rank of DPS characters, but the inherent randomness in her kit keeps her from reaching the consistency of those higher-powered units. That said, her pension for dishing out a Qingquillion damage with the right setups is well founded. You need only search the term to see her potential.

Seele

  • Element: Quantum
  • Path: The Hunt

Seele was the first limited 5-star character we ever got in Honkai: Star Rail, and while she’s been powercrept in the time since, her potential was so great that she remains a top-tier choice even with the likes of Jingliu and Acheron around. What really puts her above and beyond is her ability to take multiple turns as long as she continues to defeat enemies. That she works fantastically with every support in the game helps, too.

B-Tier DPS Characters in Honkai: Star Rail

Jing-Yuan

  • Element: Lightning
  • Path: Erudition

While Jing Yuan by no means a bad DPS character, he’s unfortunately overshadowed by more straightforward characters. His kit, centered on his Lightning Lord servitor, can dish out solid single and multi-target DPS, especially if properly built, but he relies on his supports to maximize his potential more than some other characters.

Clara

  • Element: Physical
  • Path: Destruction

Clara might be B-tier now, but I think the more support follow-up attacks get in Honkai: Star Rail, the better and better she’ll become. She does need a lot of protection, and her damage ceiling is a bit lower than most would like, but if you have the team to back her up, and the right build, she’s a fantastic addition to any FUA team.

Blade

  • Element: Wind
  • Path: Destruction

Blade remains an effective DPS, though his survivability and damage output can cause issues in the hardest endgame content. If you play his kit right, which revolves around spending and regaining HP, he can be a fantastic way to get around Wind-weak enemies, as there aren’t many other options in the damage dealer category.

That’s our tier list of the best DPS characters in Honkai: Star Rail. Check out additional coverage of the game in our guides hub, including build guides for Robin, Aventurine, and more.
