Rillaboom is heading to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet as a 7-Star Tera Raid. The final evolution of Grookey can be found at Black Tera Raid Crystals and bears the Mightiest Mark. You’ll be able to face the Normal Tera Type Rillaboom starting July 27 at 5 p.m. PST until July 30 at 4:59 p.m. PST. It’ll appear again Aug 3 at 5 p.m. PST until August 6 at 4:59 p.m. PST. It’s the first Normal Tera type to be featured as a 7-Star Tera Raid event. If you’ve got your heart set on acquiring it, here’s how to defeat Rillaboom in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
How to Defeat 7-Star Normal Tera Type Rillaboom
- While Rillaboom may be of Normal typing, its attacks will still primarily be Grass.
Poliwrath may see like a good choice due to it being a partial Fighting type, but the weakness to Grass attacks would render it useless. You’ll want to use Pokemon that can use Fighting moves, ideally with the extra STAB damage, and are resistant to Grass. With the Normal type, it’ll be immune to any Ghost moves, as well.
Best Normal Tera Type Rillaboom Counters
Keeping in mind the typing, these are the best counters for the Rillaboom the Unrivaled Tera Raid event.
- Annihilape: Close Combat, Drain Punch, Bulk Up
- Chesnaught: Belly Drum, Close Combat, Drain Punch
- Koraidon: Close Combat, Drain Punch, Collision Course
These are the best Pokemon to take with you into combat. If you don’t have these, especially due to Koraidon being a Version exclusive and Chasnaught being a former Tera Raid Pokemon, you’ll want to pick your strongest Fighting Pokemon.
That’s how to beat Rillaboom during its 7-Star Tera Raid Battle event. You can only have one of these Rillaboom per account, but you can battle it repeatedly if you want extra loot.
