How to Beat Argenti in Honkai: Star Rail

Argenti is one of the most common endgame bosses in Honkai: Star Rail. Here's how to beat him.

The later you get into the endgame and story quest of Honkai: Star Rail, the more often you’re likely to see the Argenti boss fight. Despite his middle-of-the-road performance as a playable character, fighting him can be a massive pain, so knowing how to beat him can make every encounter a breeze.

In most instances, Argenti has two phases, but even in the Simulated Universe, where he has three, the mechanics are fairly similar. Beyond the mechanics (which we’ll get to), the most important thing you need to know is Argenti’s elemental weaknesses. By default, you can break Argenti’s Toughness with Physical, Fire, and Ice damage. Ironically, that makes Argenti weak to, well, Argenti, and his playable version’s focus on multi-target damage is fantastic against his boss version.

How to Beat Each Argenti Phase in Honkai: Star Rail

Argenti’s fight revolves around two points: dealing with the flower statues he summons and actually dealing damage to him. He has three kinds:

  • Rose Flower: Provides a stacking damage bonus. Weak to Physical and Ice.
  • Gold and Silver Flower: Provides a single-hit barrier. Weak to Physical and Lightning.
  • Red and Black Sword Flower: Deals Physical damage to all allies. Weak to Physical and Fire.

For Argenti’s first phase, he’ll only summon two flowers: one Rose and one Gold and Silver. Take them out as soon as possible. Not only does that remove their ability to buff the boss, but the character who defeated them gets the buff instead. Argenti doesn’t deal too much damage by default, but let his buffs build up and he can dish out serious pain. The barrier that the gold and silver flower erects only takes one attack, but any move that counts as one hit despite having multiple will still be blocked. Think Acheron’s Ultimate or Firefly’s enhanced Skill.

Argenti’s second phase is similar to his first, but instead of two flower statues, you’ll need to deal with four. That’s why playable Argenti is so powerful: he can hit all five enemies at once for solid damage and break their weakness to boot. Firefly is almost as effective thanks to her attacks implanting Fire weakness on her primary target and removing Toughness from adjacent units regardless of their weakness. Boothill is technically also an okay choice, but his single-target focus puts him at a massive disadvantage.

Beating Argenti’s second phase is much the same as the first. Deal with the flower statues as soon as possible, then do as much damage to Argenti himself as possible before he summons a new set. As before, the damage bonus and barrier flowers should be your top priority but know that destroying the sword flowers deals free damage to the entire enemy lineup.

Final phase Argenti is a repeat of the second, but you’ll only be facing sword flower statues, meaning every time they get a turn (usually as a group), you’ll be on the receiving end of four team-wide attacks. And that’s not counting the damage Argenti himself puts out. However, if you’ve used any of the teams listed above, you should be able to not only break the boss’ weakness but many of the flower statues’ as well.

Bear in mind that you’ll only encounter three-phase Argenti in the Simulated and Divergent Universe activities, and if you play those right, the buffs you unlock along the way will deal with the boss and his flower statues for you. Simulated and Divergent Universe are silly that way.
