How to Beat Lucilius in Granblue Fantasy Relink ‘The Final Vision’ Quest

Here's a full breakdown on how to beat Lucilius in Granblue Fantasy Relink.

Lucilius is a Level 200 boss in “The Final Vision” quest, which is a part of the Version 1.1.0 update. This boss is considered the hardest boss in the game. So I decided to give you some tips on how to beat Lucilius in Granblue Fantasy Relink.

If you’ve reached Lucilius in the game, then you ought to be at the max Level 100 and unlock Overmastery Level 3. These are necessary conditions for fighting him. Luckily, you won’t be alone, as you’ll be accompanied by a guest character named Sandalphon. But his help isn’t a guaranteed win, so it’s still important to prepare yourself for this battle as well as possible.

Which Attacks Lucilius Uses In Phase 1

As I discovered, an entire battle with Lucilius consists of two phases. In the first phase, he appears in his human form, but as soon as I drop his HP below 60%, he transforms into his dark form and uses some extra attacks. Here I list some of his most powerful attacks out of the 12 Labors, which should help you prepare for what to expect:

  • Paradise Lost is his signature attack when he creates a massive orb in the sky that shoots lasers everywhere. In this case, I recommend spinning around to avoid being hit by the projectiles or using four consecutive charge attacks to skip the entire phase.
  • Be especially careful with his Punishment AoE, which sends inward waves across an entire arena. I think the best way to avoid the rings is to simply jump over them, although they can get a bit hectic.
  • His Trinity of Terror attack creates three massive energy pillars around the arena that spawn three Apocalyptic Swords. Be sure to destroy them all as quickly as possible before they start dealing damage to you and your party.
  • Similarly, Lucilius likes to cast Holy Wings that spawn feathers inside orbs that emit lasers. There are many of them, so try to focus on the larger ones first, and then switch to the smaller feathers. Once the links between the feathers are broken, the entire spell will be canceled.

Which Attacks Lucilius Uses In Phase 2

During his second phase, he uses the same attacks as before, but this time, there are a few surprises you should be aware of:

  • Final Rebellion is kind of a combo between Paradise Lost and Punishment. I’d say it’s quite dangerous, so don’t try to do anything here except avoid lasers and projectiles. My research also showed that it’s possible to cancel Paradise Lost using a single SBA attack in Phase 2.
  • When he uses Mastema, he surrounds himself with energy orbs that are hard to penetrate. Here, I suggest using a full chain burst to get through them.
  • Xaphan is very similar to Punishment but much more intense. I’m not sure if it’s possible to avoid damage here but try to avoid the energy waves as fast as possible.

Best Team to Beat Lucilius

  • Lancelot
  • Katalina
  • Charlotta
  • Zeta

Lancelot is an agile swordsman with Dual Sword mastery who can both deal lots of damage and stun enemies. His multi-combo attacks are perfect against Lucilius, allowing him to deal consistent damage throughout the whole fight. He’s also extremely agile, which I consider to be the most important quality for this battle, as Lucilius is also an extremely mobile boss.

Katalina is the second most important party member due to her Ares mechanic and healing skills. With the help of her Ares attack, I can increase her own DPS as well of other teammates. She can also summon powerful beasts to distract enemies, but in the battle with Lucilius, her healing ability will be most useful.

Charlotta can become immune to damage, which is great for this battle, but it can also get very dangerous. On top of that, I recommend her for high agility, just like Lancelot. Zeta will have a blast dealing damage to Lucilius in the air due to her Spear mastery.

Best Sigils to Beat Lucilius

  • Critical Hit Rate
  • Damage Cap
  • Tyranny
  • Linked Together
  • Health
  • Stamina
  • Potion Hoarder
  • Stout Heart

The secret to winning a battle against Lucilius is hidden in critical damage. The more critical hits you can deal with him, the quicker his HP will drop. That’s why I chose Critical Hit Rate and Damage Cap as the two most important sigils for this battle. Tyranny and Linked Together can provide a necessary boost to all of my link attacks, sky-bound arts, and especially chain bursts.

Of course, it’s important to take care of your defense, so I highly recommend equipping both Health and Stamina to increase your HP and boost your attacks based on the level of your HP. The Potion Hiarder is here to support you in dire situations. Finally, the Stout Heart is another important purple sigil, which makes all my attacks uninterruptable. This means that I can deliver all of my critical strikes, no matter what.

That’s all I wanted to tell you on how to beat Lucilius in Granblue Fantasy: Relink. Stay tuned for more GBF Relink tips and tricks articles, including best Lancelot build and best weapons tier list.
