We went on a whole scavenger hunt to complete Cerberus Snapshot in Fortnite, and now it’s time to continue the story quests with Medusa’s Snapshots. Here’s how to communicate with Medusa and work through all her tasks in this week’s set of quests.
Fortnite Medusa Snapshot Quests Guide
Just like all the Snapshot quests, there are multiple steps required to complete. Here’s a look at all the steps:
To start the quests, you’ll need to make sure you complete all the previous Snapshot quests. Then, head to a Scrying Pool anywhere around the map and speak to Medusa to get started.
There are several Scrying Pools around the map, so you can head to the closest one to the Battle Bus:
- East of The Underworld
- Northeast of Reckless Railways
- Southwest of Pleasant Piazza
- Mount Olympus
Destroy Vases to Collect Golden Fleece Statues
The first step of the Medusa quests will be to collect some Golden Fleece Statues. They are all located in Mount Olympus. They look like little golden sheep, but you’ll need to track them down and destroy the vases they are hiding in to collect them. Here’s where to find all of them:
- North side of Mount Olympus in front of a statue
- West side of Mount Olympus beside a bench
- South side of Mount Olympus beside some altars
When you find them, use your pickaxe to break the vase and then collect the statue by holding X, Square, or E. Along with these three golden sheep hidden inside the vases, you’ll also need to find a Cracking Hourglass and Medusa’s Broken Harpe Sword.
Find a Cracking Hourglass
The Hourglass and the Broken Harpe Sword are not too far away from the other Golden Fleece Statues. They are both within Mount Olympus as well. Head to the building in the center of the location, just south of the fountain square.
Inside the library room in the lower levels, you’ll see a mini hourglass on the floor. Look for the exclamation mark on your mini-map and overtop of the item to help you locate them more easily.
Retrieve Medusa’s Broken Harpe Sword
Medusa’s Broken Harpe Sword is in the same room on the far side across from the hourglass. You’ll see the pieces of the sword on top of a stone podium.
Deliver the Artifacts to Medusa
Now that you have all the statues and artifacts, you can deliver them to Medusa in person. She’s at Fencing Fields, west of Mount Olympus.
When you arrive at Fencing Fields, head to the fields on the northern side and you’ll see her wandering around a small building there. Speak to her to continue on to your next step.
Defeat Minions
Medusa needs you to buy her some time. To do so, you’ll need to fight some minions. Minions are the NPC enemies that fight alongside the gods. So, to defeat minions, all you need to do is challenge Hades, Cerberus, Zeus, or Ares to a duel and defeat all six of the minions that spawn. Here are the locations of the god duels that will work:
- Hades – West side of The Underworld
- Zeus – Eastern side of Mount Olympus
- Ares – Center of Brawler’s Battleground
You don’t actually need to fight the god during this quest. The stage is completed right after defeating all six of the minions. Then, you’ll need to head to a Scrying Pool again to speak to the Oracle. Luckily, if you opted for Zeus or Hades, you’ll have Scrying Pools nearby. (Scroll up to see the map of the Scrying Pools again if you need a reminder.)
Destroy Crackling Hourglasses
After speaking to The Oracle, your next step will be to track down more hourglasses and destroy them. You only need to break three of them, but five will be shown on the map. This makes it easier to navigate no matter where you end up. These are all the spots where you’ll find them:
- Northern Restored Reels
- Northern Fencing Fields
- Pantheon Path west of Mount Olympus
- Summit Temple northeast of Mount Olympus
- Brawler’s Battleground
These hourglasses are the same size as the crackling hourglass you removed earlier. Like before, you can use the exclamation marks to locate them more easily when they are in range. Use your pickaxe to break them. Once that’s done, head back to Fencing Fields again to speak to Medusa before your final step.
Damage Zeus’ Hourglass and Defeat Him
The last step of the quest is to face Zeus once and for all. Before challenging him, though, you’ll need to break his Stormforged Hourglass toward the center of Mount Olympus at the fountain statue. Use your pickaxe to break it, just like the mini ones.
Once it’s broken, head up into the temple on the far east side of Mount Olympus, just beyond the fountain. Now, you can interact with Zeus’ challenge statue and battle him. This battle is no easy task. You’ll face one full wave of Zeus before he goes invulnerable and summons minions. After fighting the minions, you’ll face another wave, and Zeus will start using his thunder ability. Keep moving as much as possible to avoid his powerful attacks and use a fast-firing shotgun, SMG, or even Hades Whip to drain his health as quickly as possible.
Return to the Scrying Pool right in Mount Olympus to report your victory to the Oracle. Now you’re officially done with Medusa’s Snapshots! You’ll receive a nice ton of XP for doing so, helping you collect more of those Battle Pass rewards before the season is over.
