Although you can practice playing on Tifa’s piano already in Chapter 1 of FF7 Rebirth, the full minigame can be unlocked only in Chapter 6. Here, I’ll provide you with tips on how to complete piano minigames in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, including a list of all the rewards.
FF7 Rebirth: How to Complete Piano Minigames
As I already mentioned, your first encounter with the piano takes place during Chapter 1 at the Lockhart Residence. Once you reach Costa del Sol in Chapter 6, speak to Dorian inside The Royal Coast building to start the actual piano minigame. But in the beginning, you can only play Tifa’s main theme, and if you want to get all the rewards, I recommend collecting all the sheet music that’s available in the game.
Regardless of the musical theme that you choose to play, I discovered that the same rules of success apply to all of them. Here’s how I recommend completing all piano minigames in FF7 Rebirth with a perfect score:
- Before you start playing, press the L1 button to reduce the note speed to its minimum.
- Listen to the beat using headphones and match the movement of the controller sticks to it.
- Try again and again before your beatmatching skills become perfect.
FF7 Rebirth: All Sheet Music Locations
There are six main musical themes, one bonus theme, and one exclusive theme, which can be obtained only after you find all 88 collector items. Here, I list all sheet music names and their locations throughout the chapters.
On Our Way Sheet Music Location and Rewards
While traveling around the Junon region, you can find the On Our Way sheet inside the Crow’s Nest at CAS Base Camp. This minigame grants Level 2 HP Up Materia.
Tifa’s Theme Sheet Music Location and Rewards
After that, you unlock Tifa’s Theme piano sheet at the location I already mentioned above, which is Costa del Sol in the Corel region. When completed, it rewards you with a Level 2 MP Up Materia.
Barret’s Theme Sheet Music Location and Rewards
The next sheet, Barret’s Theme, can be found not too far away from the previous spot in the Lookout’s Old Storeroom at the North Corel. This one rewards you with a Level 2 Warding Materia.
Cinco de Chocobo Sheet Music Location and Rewards
After Chapter 6, you’ll be heading into the Laurel Hill of the Gongaga region, where you can find the Cinco de Chocobo sheet music, which grants Level 2 Steadfast Block Materia.
Two Legs? Nothin’ To It Sheet Music Location and Rewards
Once you find yourself in the Water Grotto of the Cosmo Canyon region, be sure to get the Two Legs? Nothin’ To It piano sheet. It’ll reward you with a Level 2 Empowerment Materia.
Aerith’s Theme Sheet Music Location and Rewards
Aerith’s Theme piano sheet can be found at Nibelheim’s Treatment Center in the Nibel region. This minigame will offer Level 3 Binding Materia.
Let the Battles Begin! Sheet Music Location and Rewards
After finding all six sheets of music, I can get the bonus theme at the same location as before: Treatment Center (2F) in Nibelheim. Typically, the reward is Level 4 Healing Materia, but if you bring it to Aerith and Yuffie, you’ll also get the Peerless Pianist collector’s item.
One-Winged Angel Sheet Music Location and Rewards
Finally, if I get all 88 collector items, I can get the last exclusive sheet music in FF7 Rebirth at the Johnny’s Seaside Inn in the Corel region. Unfortunately, this one gives no rewards.
