While leaving the arena or defeating the Dragon and sitting on the throne are legitimate endings to the game, they’re not the true endings. The true ending of Dragon’s Dogma 2 is achieved in the secret late-game area. Here’s how to enter the true ending area in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
How to Reach the Secret Ending Area in Dragon’s Dogma 2
To reach the true ending area, you need to defeat the True Dragon and then talk to the Pathfinder twice after the ending cutscene without sitting on the throne. As soon as the Dragon boss fight ends, you’ll be crowned the Sovran and enter a courtroom with the throne at the end.
Follow my steps below to reach true ending:
- Don’t sit on the throne.
- Talk to the Pathfinder on the left side of the throne.
- They’ll mention you altering fate and then allow you to sit on the throne again.
- Once more, don’t sit on the throne. Instead, turn around to find the Pathfinder amongst a group of nobles.
- Talk to them again.
- They’ll transport you back in time before the Dragon fight as you’re flying around on the Dragon.
- Climb down to its chest area where the heart is.
- Use the Empowered Godsbane Blade from your Inventory.
- Press the attack button to use it on yourself.
Using the Empowered Godsbane Blade on yourself will trigger the first true ending cutscene, where you’ll be transported to a secret end-game area. You’ll receive two new main quests.
Complete these two main quests and interact with all four red beams around the map to reach the true ending. Note that entering this world state drastically increases the difficulty of the game by spawning many more bosses than before. Furthermore, there won’t be a night cycle anymore, and Oxcart travel will be disabled. On the bright side, merchants and the Dragonforged will now sell the most powerful gear in the game.
