How to Find the Gas Mask and Acid Bath Blueprint in Last Day on Earth

Been looking for that elusive Gas Mask? Want to build an Acid Bath to dip your feet in after a long day of fighting Zombies? Here's how!
This article is over 7 years old and may contain outdated information

Now that Last Day on Earth: Survival has gotten a few updates, many of us players who’ve jumped into its unforgiving world are scrambling to take advantage of the new resources and features that have been added to the game since it was first launched.

With these new additions, players can now get the Gas Mask and build the Acid Bath. But where and how can you do that? In the recently unlocked Alfa Bunker, of course! In this Last Day on Earth guide, we’ll go over all the answers you need. So keep quiet and treat yourself to an extra bottle of water while we dive into Bunker Alfa and find what you’re looking for.

At the entrance of this Bunker, you’ll find CAC Card A at the entrance to the Bunker, meaning you won’t have to do anything else to get inside the primary level. However, you will need a code to access the sublevels of Bunker Alfa. This code changes every three days, and can be obtained by looting a dead soldier that can appear in resource areas randomly. (Check out our Last Day on Earth vault code guide for more information!)

You can also listen to the CB radio to find out when the code for this bunker changes — and when it does, the radio will have an exclamation point hovering over it. Alteratively, you can also have a friend tell you the code, since a recent patch made it so that the code isn’t unique to each player anymore.

Where to Find the Gas Mask in Last Day on Earth

Once you’re inside the Alfa Bunker, there are two ways the gas mask can be obtained — looting or trade.

You can loot the gas mask down down in the sub levels of Bunker Alfa — but this isn’t a guaranteed method for acquiring it. So if you want a more surefire method of getting your hands on it, you’ll want to opt for the second option.

For this method, you’ll need 30 Combat Gear Coupons. Redeeming these at the Bunker Alfa Combat Gear Terminal will always grant you four guns, two sets of armor, a gas mask, and potentially some vehicle parts and paints as well. Other than the gas mask, the weapons, armor, and parts you obtain are randomized.

Where to Find the Acid Bath Blueprint in Last Day on Earth

There is only one way to get the blueprint that unlocks the Acid Bath for construction. Thankfully, you’re guaranteed to find it. Getting to the blueprint is not easy, though, as it’s at the end of Bunker Alfa’s sub level. This is certainly not an area for those who are new to the game — so prepare a strategy and stockpile extra medical kits, weapons, and armor.

The acid bath blueprint will only be available once you finish Underground Floor 2 in the Alfa Bunker. Once you’ve cleared it, you’ll be able to hunt down the blueprint and build the acid bath.

How to Use the Gas Mask and Acid Bath

The Gas Mask is currently used to survive in the gas chamber located in Bunker Alfa. Be careful though — the gas mask decays incredibly fast while in the gas chamber, so you can die quite easily if you aren’t paying attention.

The Acid Bath is solely used to clean infected crates — you know, the ones covered in orange slime. Without the Acid Bath, they can not be opened. But once you clean them off with your newly built bath, you’ll be able to pop them open and loot whatever’s inside.

Move Quickly

Things can change quickly in Last Day on Earth. The developers work hard to constantly push out patches and updates that change up the game all the time. So if you want this information to be useful to you, do try and obtain the your Acid Bath blueprint and Gas Mask expediently.

That’s all you need to know for now! Be sure to check out the rest of our Last Day on Earth guides for more tips and tricks that will help you survive this zombie-infested world.
