How to Get Axe, Pickaxe, and Shovel in No Rest for the Wicked

Along with the Fishing Rod, which you can find naturally, you also need an Axe, Pickaxe, and Shovel to harvest early game crafting materials and loot. They’re scattered throughout the Mariner’s Keep. Here’s how to get an Axe, Pickaxe, and Shovel in No Rest for the Wicked.

How to Find an Axe, Pickaxe, and Shovel in No Rest for the Wicked

If you’ve reached Sacrament, you can buy all tools from Finnick the Blacksmith, otherwise, you can find them here in the early game:

• The Axe: I found a free one you can pick up. You can find it after being stranded on the beach on a secret platform. Continue west from the beach past the campfire until you see the location in the picture above. Swim across to the other side, walk across the thin railing halfway, and then jump to the chest in the picture for the Axe.

• The Pickaxe: Head into the Mariner’s Keep. You’ll fight one enemy in the open courtyard and then continue west up the stairs. You’ll fight two enemies here, one melee fighter and a crossbow-wielder. I recommend you bait out the melee enemy in the courtyard and then finish the crossbow-wielder off afterward. Be sure to dodge the crossbow shots. Continue past them to the ruined tower in the picture above, climb the stairs, and exit on the left, where you’ll find the Pickaxe on a wooden ledge. I would also grab the Messhall key for the Shovel as well.
• The Shovel: I bought the shovel from Fillmore in the Messhall, which is opened with the Messhall key. It’s only 20 copper, and it’ll pay its value back in loot soon enough.
