How to Get Black Dragon Scale in Granblue Fantasy ReLink

Find out how to get Black Dragon Scale in Granblue Fantasy: Relink by defeating the Evyl Blackwyrm boss.

The Black Dragon Scale is the most powerful dragon scale in GBF Relink. It drops from a single endgame boss. In my guide, I’ll provide you with tips on how to get Black Dragon Scale in Granblue Fantasy ReLink, including the best team composition and sigils.

Black Dragon Scale is available only as a drop from the Evyl Blackwyrm boss during the “Into the Abyss” quest on Proud difficulty. This means that I need to reach the endgame to unlock both the Proud difficulty and the endgame quest. Then, I have to fight and defeat the final boss, Evyl Blackwyrm. The task is tough but doable under the right circumstances.

What Are Evyl Blackwyrm’s Attacks?

As I discovered, this boss isn’t a joke, with some truly powerful attacks and status effects that can disrupt my entire party. Before going into the battle with this monster, I urge you to take a look at some of his most brutal attacks to know what to expect.

  • Blackwyrm’s slow-motion AoE constantly affects players who interact with it. As soon as you enter it, all your animations will be significantly slowed down.
  • Once I manage to reduce his HP to 50% or below, he will fly up into the air and create a gravity well. This is another AoE attack that pulls all players and objects inside the gravity well and, at the same time, sends out waves of explosions and projectiles.
  • At the end of the battle, Blackwyrm drops down to the ground and executes a massive tail swipe, which damages everything and everyone in its area of effect.

Best Team to Beat Evyl Blackwyrm

Fighting against Evyl Blackwyrm’s powerful attacks requires not only a specialized team of characters but also the correct selection of sigils. You may want to bring in but aren’t restricted to, a purely offensive team, which consists of Fire-type allies, including:

  • Ghandagoza
  • Percival
  • Rackam
  • Zeta

Ghandagoza is one of the hardest hitters in the game. While using his Raging Fists, I can deal significant damage at close range. I highly recommend using his Arhat Skybreaker and Iron Shoulder skills against Evyl Blackwyrm.

Similarly, Percival can be of great help by dealing fire damage with his sword and using his Schlacht charged attack. I like this character a lot due to his simple combos that can speed up the execution of my devastating attacks.

Rackam and Zeta are here mostly for support and defense. Rackam can deal with a lot of ranged damage while keeping a distance from Blackwyrm, and Zeta can provide defensive capabilities for an entire team when needed.

Best Sigils to Beat Evyl Blackwyrm

When choosing sigils, I need to equip myself with all the possible damage I can lay my hands on. But I must also not forget about actually opposing Blackwyrm’s attacks, which may be even more important than damage. Here’s a list of sigils that I consider must-haves for this battle:

  • Slow Resistance
  • Firm Stance
  • Nimble Onslaught

I cannot stress enough how important the Slow Resistance sigil is to this battle. I’d definitely use a maxed-out Slow Resistance, as it can help me reduce the Blackwyrm’s slow-motion AoE not only when I leave it but also when I’m inside. It’s important because you need to be able to enter the slow field and hit Blackwyrm whenever possible.

Firm Stance will help significantly by not getting pulled into Blackwyrm’s gravity well. Here, I prefer not to max this sigil out, as even the first level is enough to get a solid grip on the ground. Also, I wouldn’t ignore Nimble Onslaught, which reduces all of my skill cooldowns and improves my perfect dodge against his tail swipes.
