The community-dubbed Hades whip, officially known as the Chains of Hades, is a special Olympian Power weapon similar to the Thunderbolt of Zeus. That said, players are wondering how to actually get it to drop in the game. Here’s how to get Hades whip in Fortnite.
How to Get Chains of Hades in Fortnite
The Chains of Hades or the Hades Whip will become available in the coming weeks of Fortnite Season 2, Chapter 5. While you cannot unlock this Myths & Mortals weapon in Week 1, Epic Games has confirmed that the Chains of Hades will become available to players later this season. Once they’re out, I would guess that it’ll be dropped from Hades once you defeat him at his altar on the northwest side of the map in The Underworld.
I would prepare for the fight beforehand since the encounter starts with Hades summoning minions. Once you clear them out, Hades himself will appear wielding the Chains of Hades. For now, you can only get him to drop the Harbinger, which is his Mythical SMG, but in future updates, I would assume he also drops the Chains of Hades.
If you can’t wait for them to release in BR, you can get them early via Team Rumble supply drops. That said, they’ll release it in the base game a later week in the Season. The Hades whip or chains are a versatile mid-range weapon that can also pull other players closer to you. I really like using them in combination with Shotguns to get enemies in range.
