Infamy is one of the core mechanics of Wild Bastards and it decides the bonuses you will receive at the start of the next sector. If you’re about to head into more dangerous levels such as the Challenges, you need to maximize your Infamy. We’re going to look at how the Infamy Rewards work as well as tips to getting Infamy fast in Wild Bastards.
How to Get Infamy Quickly in Wild Bastards
There are a few tricks you can use to get Infamy quickly, especially if you’re hunting for the 2000 Infamy achievement for Wild Bastards. Here are our suggestions if you’re looking to gather up a considerable amount of Infamy in your next sector:
- All enemies have Infamy values on them for defeating them. The tougher the enemy, the more Infamy it will get you.
- Go to planets with the Bounty modifiers. Some planets have bounties set on specific enemies that will always reward you with extra bonus Infamy.
- Fight the three Princes on every planet. It’s a tough ask, but if you’re up for the challenge then the three Princes drop 100, 200, and 300 Infamy respectively upon defeat. That adds up to 600 Infamy per planet if you’re willing to take them down each time, just from the Princes.
- Play the Challenge Mode. The Challenge Mode difficulty modifiers will result in you facing tougher enemies more often and gaining more infamy. Story mode Sectors take a while before they get lengthy enough for you to farm a considerable amount of Infamy.
- Remember, that you will have to go out of your way to get around 2000 Infamy. It won’t happen organically on a run, and you need to actively take a few steps to maximize your Infamy.
You can also use your Infamy at the Infamy Trade Shop on the last planet of every Sector. However, we suggest consulting the Infamy Tiers list to ensure you don’t miss out on any rewards in the next sector. If your current Infamy is at 1600, then the previous tier is 1500 Infamy and you should avoid spending more than 100 Infamy.
Infamy Rewards
There are a total of 10 tiers of Infamy rewards that go up all the way from 0 Infamy to 12000 Infamy. If you’re playing for Infamy, it would be helpful to remember these values: 0, 50, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1500, 3000, 6000, 12000.
Now when you’re nearing the end of your run, when spending Infamy or when you’re about to leave Sectors, you should try to make sure you can increase your Infamy Value to the nearest Threshold. Here are all the rewards you get for Infamy:
- Beans
- Cramm
- Tonics
- Emergency Beacon
- Tier 1 Equipment
- Tier 2 Equipment
- Tier 3 Equipment
