Poison is going to be the first status effect you’ll have to deal with in Black Myth: Wukong. Poison works like you would expect it to in any other RPG: once you’ve been hit with enough poison attacks, you’ll gain the Poisoned status and start losing health. The only real cure is the Antimiasma medicine, but how do you get more Antimiasma in Black Myth: Wukong?

The health loss due to poison is unlikely to kill you in the middle of combat but will linger on, potentially taking out more than your entire health bar. You’ll have to keep healing in order to keep it in check, consuming precious charges of your healing gourde. Antimiasma medicine is an essential item for those areas of the game infested with poisonous enemies, like the snake-men forest of chapter one.

The first way to get more Antimiasma, and the only one available before late into chapter one, is to buy it at a checkpoint. Start by offering incense at any checkpoint and then click on the Buy button. You’ll find a large but not infinite amount of Antimiasma available for purchase in the Medicine category.

The second option is to craft Antimiasma. To do so, you first need to unlock the Crafting sub-menu while resting at a checkpoint. This will happen naturally during the course of the main story. Each dose of Antimiasma consumes one Tree Pearl and one Jade Lotus, so make sure to always harvest the fruits of those plants. Crafting Antimiasma isn’t just cheaper, but allows you to make more of this medicine in total. The Antimiasma you can buy isn’t infinite, so you should favor crafting anytime you can.

Another way to avoid the negative effects of poison is to raise your poison resistance. You can do this by using items or by taking the appropriate skills. Increasing poison resistance will have two effects: it will make it harder to catch the Poisoned status and it will diminish the damage dealt by poison.

Some items that improve poison resistance include the curio Cuo Jin-Yin Belt Hook. Meanwhile, the main skill for resisting poison and other status effects is Four Bane Endurance, which increases resistance to all four banes, or status effects.
