The latest Stardew Valley patch brought a lot of new content with it, but one aspect comes with a bit of mystery. Having a pet on your farm to take care of is adorable, and now you can have purple pets. So, here’s how to get purple pets in Stardew Valley.
Stardew Valley: How to Get Purple (Iridium) Pets
While there are files for purple cats, dogs, and turtles, only the purple turtle is available in-game right now. To grab one, you need to first have your first pet’s affection level to at least 5 hearts. Then, go visit Marnie to the south of your farm and choose “Adopt Pets” in her dialogue menu. Unlike the rest of the pets you can adopt, the purple turtle costs a staggering 500,000 gold.
Once purchased, the turtle appears in your farmhouse. However, if you purchase another cat or dog, you’ll need to visit Robin first. Ask her to build extra pet bowls on your farm, then talk to Marnie once they’re complete. She lets you adopt more pets as long as you have the space and bowls for them.
How to Get Purple Dogs and Cats in Stardew Valley
The purple dog and cat aren’t currently available in-game. If they are, then we haven’t found how to acquire them yet. The purple turtle might play a role in collecting more purple pets since its price is so much higher than that of any other animal, but this isn’t confirmed. For now, we just need to wait and see if the purple dog and cat are added in another update.
That’s how to get purple pets in Stardew Valley. If you want the dog and cat ahead of time, you’ll have to use mods until they can be adopted in the official version of the game.
