One of the most diverse biomes in ARK: Genesis is the Bog. It has a lot of great resources, but it also creates a lot of trouble for players in the form of insect swarms as they are a menace.
This guide will give you tips on how to get rid of insect swarms in ARK: Genesis. We’ve all heard to just jump into some water where the bugs can’t reach you, but that doesn’t make them go away.
Below you will find three proven methods that actually work to get rid of those insect swarms making you miserable.
Flamethrower
The most effective way to quickly get rid of insect swarms is to use Flamethrower. It is more effective than torch or a firearm.
Just point the weapon at the swarm and roast them up. As a result, the entire swarm will vanish in a moment.
The crafting recipe for a Flamethrower is as follows:
- 75x Polymer
- 50x Cementing Paste
- 35x Metal Ingot
- 10x Sulfur
- 15x Electronics
Cheat code: “cheat GFI FlameThrow 1 0 0“
Mount
If you don’t have materials for crafting the Flamethrower, then tame any beast and make it your mount. In case insect swarm starts attacking you, use the melee attack to hit insects.
This will force your mount to kill every insect separately, which takes some time, but at least the job will be done.
Bug Repellent
The last effective option is to consume the Bug Repellent. It won’t kill insects, but will keep them away from you.
Use the following recipe to craft Bug Repllent:
- 6x Pelt, Hair, or Wool
- 2x Narcotic
- 4x Citronal
- 4x Rockarrot
Cheat code: “cheat GFI BugRepellant 1 0 0“
