It seems the creepy crawly of choice for survival or horror games has been unanimously decided upon as spiders. For those with arachnophobia, this is how to get rid of spiders in Nightingale.
How to Enable Arachnophobia Mode in Nightingale to Get Rid of Spiders
Spiders are often featured as enemies in ruins, caves, and other dimly-lit locations in a variety of games. While some of us are fine with the eight-legged digital versions of these creepy crawlies, others can recoil in fright.
Thankfully, the beginning of Nightingale is relatively spider-free. I only saw small ones scuttling away from a dark corner once while exploring the first realms you Portal to. This makes the tutorial Byway realms the perfect time to enable features that banish spiders from the game.
How to Turn on Arachnophobia Mode
To get rid of spiders, open your main menu with the Esc button. Navigate over to the Video tab. The option you’re looking for is the third down: Enable Arachnophobia Mode. Click the checkbox and Apply the change at the bottom right of the menu.
Now, you won’t have to worry about spiders at all. Since I haven’t encountered any in the early game, I haven’t been able to test out what the creepy crawlies are changed to. Once I find one, I’ll come back and update this piece.
You can choose to wait until you actually encounter a spider before turning on the feature. It’s available at any time and only requires a quick restart of the game to be implemented.
That’s how to get rid of spiders in Nightingale. While most spider-free modes are included after the fact, this game has it right at the start of Early Access.
