While playing through Banishers, you’ll find plenty of notes and clues about secret treasures and chests. Such is the case of the Makeshift Camp Cache note, where you can get a rare weapon and armor upgrade resource early. Here’s how to get Scourge Accretion in Banishers Ghosts of New Eden.

Where to Find Scourge Accretion Early in Banishers Ghosts of New Eden

Scourge Accretion is an important and rare early-game upgrade resource for weapons and armor. I found a way to get it early through a mini-puzzle quest map. During the Haunting Case for Nellie Heayton, where you search for the missing blacksmith, you come across the High Cave shelter checkpoint to rest after leaving the docks. Here, you find a note titled “Makeshift Camp Cache”.

The note contains a map that looks quite similar to the Darkwood camp hub. Go to this location to find a secret chest with Scourge Accretion inside. It’s the fastest way to get it, as you can only find it through loot later while you search for and fight the Beast.

How to Find the Makeshift Camp Cache in Banishers Ghosts of New Eden

To find the Makeshift Camp Cache, fast-travel back to the Darkwood shelter called Hunter’s Camp. Exit your shelter, and go right, behind your house towards the river. The cache is on the bank of the river to the right of the north bridge to exit the camp. If you’re not fast-traveling but walking back to Darkwood, then simply cross the bridge to enter the camp and follow the river to the right or westward if you’re looking at the map until you see a chest prompt.

Inside you’ll find Scourge Accretion, and I highly recommend you use it to upgrade your weapon at a shelter. You’ll need as much damage as you can get for the upcoming Beast fight.
