One of many statistics you need to keep track of in Fabledom is Happiness. If your population isn’t happy, then newcomers won’t want to stay. That means it becomes harder to grow your kingdom and reach milestones. Here’s how to increase Happiness in Fabledom and attract new residents.
Fabledom: How to Improve Happiness
Happiness is related to the desirability of homes and availability of resources. Your supply and demand for resources makes your Happiness level vary over time. I never have enough coal to keep my residents warm, so my Happiness plummets in the winter, then increases during warm seasons. However, there are other ways to increase your Happiness outside of your resources.
Using Buildings to Affect Happiness
All amenities increase Happiness and the desirability of nearby homes when you build them. So, it’s a good idea to designate residential areas with plenty of decorations and amenities. Then, create other areas focused on resource gathering and production, because these tend to decrease Happiness and desirability.
How Buffs and Debuffs Impact Happiness
Aside from residential buildings and resources, the other element that affects your Happiness is buffs and debuffs. You receive pop-ups at random about different events, and your decision can have various effects. I often get the option to spend coins and host a festival, which results in Happiness increasing for 30 days. But there are also events that give you a debuff that can decrease Happiness, such as one that turns your population into skeletons and doubles their hunger for 10 days.
That covers how to increase Happiness in Fabledom and what to avoid so you don’t lower your Happiness. Because of this system’s design, it’s important to not only be careful when planning the layout of your kingdom but also to read every event message so you don’t pick an option with negative consequences.
