How to Make Dried Fur in Enshrouded

Here's how to use a Drying Rack to make Dried Fur in Enshrouded.

Dried Fur is one of the earliest materials bow users need to make for the Scout armor set. Later on, it’s also used to make other armor sets, furniture, and the Medium Backpack. In this guide, I’ll go over how to make Dried Fur in Enshrouded.

How to Use the Drying Rack and Craft Dried Fur in Enshrouded

There’s no demand or mention of Dried Fur until you unlock the Hunter in Enshrouded. When you invite her to one of your Flame Altars, she only has a few crafting recipes available. This includes the Scout armor set and the Drying Rack. Dried Fur is made using the Drying Rack, so craft it before you get started.

How to Make a Drying Rack

The Drying Rack is one of the first passive workstations you can make. You only need to put the materials for Dried Fur into the rack, and it’ll take care of the rest. You need x10 Wood Logs and x6 String to craft a Drying Rack at the Hunter.

How to Make Dried Fur on the Drying Rack

Since Dried Fur is one of the earliest player-made crafting ingredients, its components are easy to gather. To make Dried Fur, put at least x1 Animal Fur and x3 Salt into the Drying Rack’s inventory. It takes one minute for the rack to process and make x1 Dried Fur. If you place several of the components into the Drying Rack, it makes as much Dried Fur as it can with what’s available.

How to Get Animal Fur

Animal Fur is one of the most plentiful materials in Enshrouded. Almost every herbivore you see in the wild drops Animal Fur on kill. If you placed a Flame Altar near where the tutorial recommended, you find plenty of rabbits and goats roaming the area. Wolves aren’t a good source of Animal Fur, as they most often drop Bones and Raw Wolf Meat instead of Animal Fur.

Hunting down herbivores is easier with a ranged weapon like a bow or wand. A circular marker appears over targets when you have a ranged weapon out, and your attacks automatically home in on your target.

How to Get Salt

Salt is a niche material in Enshrouded. It’s mostly used for Dried Fur, at least until later in the game. We have a comprehensive guide on where to farm Salt. Both locations are in the Shroud. The Saline Quarry is safer than the Egerton Salt Mines, so I recommend getting your initial stacks of Salt from the former instead of the latter.

That’s it for how to make Dried Fur in Enshrouded. This is one of the earliest passive crafting recipes you get in the game. Dried Fur doesn’t have many uses early on, but your bow-using friends need it for the Ranger-oriented armor.
