Inside Perosi’s room is a locked box. However, instead of a typical lock, this one requires three Zodiac symbols to unlock. It takes a few steps to find the combination, but everything needed is in the same room. Here’s how to open the lock in Perosi’s room in Alone in the Dark.
Alone in the Dark: How to Open Perosi’s Lock
Upon entering Perosi’s room, you find a lock with Zodiac symbols on it keeping a vanity’s drawer shut. Naturally, this is the lock that needs opening to grab the disc piece for the clock in the Gallery. To solve it, you must grab the journal on the couch and use the set of six paintings and the artists’ colony portraits.
Use the Paintings and Perosi’s Journal
First, you need to flip the second, third, and sixth paintings. This gives us the names William Arges, Franklyn Mosig, and Norah Keith. Next, take a look at the numbers on their associated artist colony portraits. This gives you: 2-4-9, which can be used with the journal. Since the symbols in the journal are associated with numbers, plug in 2-4-9 to reveal Pisces-Libra-Taurus.
Go to the vanity and interact with the lock, putting in Pisces for the first entry, Libra for the second, and Taurus for the last. The lock opens along with the drawer, letting you pick up the disc piece inside it. If you haven’t gotten the piece from the well in the Kitchen Garden, that’s your next stop. Otherwise, return to the clock and place both pieces inside, moving them until the disc is fixed, and you can use it to reach the Oil Rig.
That’s how to open the lock in Perosi’s room. Like multiple puzzles, this one seems more complicated when you first look at it than it actually is. With a bit of patience and several steps, you have it solved. Check out our Alone in the Dark guide hub for topics like whether you should play as Emily or Edward first.
