Curses are a mechanic that changes what you see in the world, and that’s key when solving certain puzzles. However, they also make you take extra damage from unexpected sources, which becomes inconvenient depending on your current tasks. So, here’s how to remove curses in Withering Rooms.
Withering Rooms: How to Heal Curses
Sitting in the Study Chair
There are a few ways to remove curses, but naturally, some are easier than others. The one that doesn’t require any materials just needs you to go to the study where Margaret is. In the room, there are a few chairs, but only one lets you sit in it. As you sit, your curse meter goes down until your cursedness is healed. Since the meter decreases quickly, you only have to sit in the chair for maybe a minute or two. But that’s only if your meter is close to full. The only downside is that the study takes time to reach, depending on your location.
Using Warding Candles for Curses
The second easiest way to remove curses is using a Warding Candle. Standing near the candle reduces your cursedness until it’s fully removed. However, the Warding Candle has other uses as well, so you want to be careful when and how you use one. Aside from removing curses, it dispels magic traps that are close to it and prevents spirits and enchanted armor from passing by.
One Ring Heals Cursedness
Finally, the Exquisite Gold Ring heals cursedness slowly over time, unless you’re curse rotted. Since it might take you a while to come across this ring, the first two methods are much more useful overall. However, it’s a nice boost if you find it and don’t need the cursed status for any puzzles.
And that’s how to remove curses in Withering Rooms. This game is a lot like Dark Souls, where the information you’re given is limited, making you read what each item does and learn through trial and error. However, we’re here to help with our guide hub. So, make sure you check out topics like how to solve the Gatehouse Puzzle or how to solve the Organ Puzzle.
