Your base can take damage even if you don’t mean for it to. Accidentally use your tools too close to a workbench or wall, and you’ll inflict harm. I found out first-hand that your NPC Companions can even crumble a wall while protecting your base from creatures. This also applies to any structure out in the world, not just your base. Attack a creature on a platform or inside a house and risk destroying it.

Thankfully, repairing building parts and foundations in Nightingale is an easy task, once you get the recipe for the Simple Hammer. You can buy the recipe from the Essence Traders for 40 Essence Dust or by completing Bastilles in the Abeyance Realm. To make a Simple Hammer, build the Workbench and the Tanning Station. It requires x1 Stone Block, x1 Wood Bundle, and x2 Straps.

Select the Simple Hammer as your main hand tool, go up to the item that needs fixing, and “attack” it. Instead of doing damage, the hammer will repair the building part or item. Repeat the process until your Estate is back to full health and ready to protect you once more. You can repair other structures you find, as well, if you carry your hammer with you.

However, if your base has been fully destroyed, you won’t be able to repair it. You’ll have to rebuild each object and supply the necessary materials for it to solidify. It’s important to stay away from your actual Estate when fighting, just to avoid this scenario.
