You don’t always want to fight certain bosses in Black Myth Wukong. Fortunately, you can use a bug transformation to simply fly past them. In this guide, I’ll show you how to turn into a bug in Black Myth Wukong and avoid any unwanted confrontations with enemies.
Black Myth Wukong: How to Turn Into a Bug
The bug transformation mechanic in Black Myth Wukong is called the Golden Cicada form. You can unlock this special form by interacting with a character known as the Keeper of Black Wind Mountain. This NPC can be found in the Forest of Wolves area, specifically when you reach the Outside the Forest shrine, where you need to offer incense.
Note that the transformation takes place automatically, allowing you to stealthily move past the Wandering Wight boss. Since this transformation mechanic is completely non-combat, you won’t engage in any sort of battle when transformed into the cicada form. As a new player, I’d definitely use this opportunity to scout the area. But of course, if you see an enemy that you’d like to engage in combat, you’re free to revert back to your normal form.
I must warn you that you can’t keep the Golden Cicada form throughout the game. As soon as you transform back to your normal shape, you won’t be able to use the bug transformation again. That’s just one of the limitations of the game. The transformation is a one-time-only event during the tutorial phase, so be sure to make the most of it while you can!
Fortunately, there are many other transformations available in the game that can be even more useful than the Cicada one. So be sure to unlock them at various shrines as soon as you can.
