Here’s how to turn off the shot meter in NBA 2K25:

  1. Open the Settings menu
  2. Navigate to the MyPLAYER tab
  3. Select the Animations option
  4. Pick the Customize Hub tab
  5. Go to Shot Meter Shots screen
  6. Turn off Visibility for Shots
    • In addition to normal shots, you can turn off the meter for Layups and Free Throws if you don’t want the meter for these types of shots.

The new shot meter in NBA 2K25 isn’t great, so there’s an extra reason to turn it off and learn to shoot without it. The main advantage of shooting with the shot meter off is that your shooting gets a 20% boost within the green zone, giving you a significant advantage. You’ll also get a slight boost in the outer zones, which is still very helpful when learning to shoot without it.

Within the animation menu, you’ll see a preview of the highlighted settings so you can customize all aspects of your animations and HUD to your liking. If you like the shot meter, you can also change the shape and color of the shot meter if you don’t like the default but don’t want to turn it off.

Now that you know how to turn off the shot meter in NBA 2K25, you can customize your animations. Check out our NBA 2K25 hub for more guides like All Takeover Requirements in 2K25 so you know precisely how the revamped takeover system works!
