The Eye of Mortium is a unique decorative item with a special purpose in V Rising. Connected to the Ruins of Mortium, it has the ability to spy on the region. Giving you needed insight into the Legion of Noctum, this is how to unlock and use the Eye of Mortium in V Rising.
How to Unlock the Eye of Mortium in V Rising
The Eye of Mortium is unlocked after upgrading your Castle Heart to level 3 and interacting with it as a quest reward. To reach level 3, obtain
- 8x Reinforced Plank.
- 24x Glass.
- 1x Greater Blood Essence for the upgrade.
This could be as simple as checking how long it has until starving, adding more blood essence, or determining what the next level requires.
Once complete, click the Claim button that appears under the quest description. This unlocks the build recipe for Eye of Mortium. When in build mode, you can now find the decoration listed under the Dominance tab in the Production section.
You’ll need x4 Iron Ingot, x4 Scourgestone, and x20 Scroll to build it. When you have the items, go into build mode and set it anywhere within the boundaries of your castle. I put mine near my Throne since the piece is so interesting. As soon as you pop back to live mode, you’ll notice that the round orb is an actual eye that continuously moves.
How to Use the Eye of Mortium in V Rising
The official description for this decoration is:
Once constructed, the Eye of Mortium allows you to track Rift Incursions within the Ruins of Mortium.
Rift Incursions are a World Event, one of the new mechanics introduced during the 1.0 full launch of V Rising. These aren’t always occurring and come in two different levels. With the Eye you can tell when an event is starting, where it’s located in the Ruins of Mortium, and which tier it is.
To start, simply walk up the the Eye and interact with it. It’ll bring up the map and give you a brief summary of Rift Incursions. After, the notice for events going live or when they’ll be ending will appear on your map at all times in the bottom right corner.
That’s how to unlock and use the Eye of Mortium in V Rising. A part of the new Ruins of Mortium content, it helps you keep track of Rift Incursion events.
