How to Unlock Warrior and Sorcerer in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Here's how to unlock the Warrior and Sorcerer Advanced Vocations in Dragon's Dogma 2.

The first two Advanced Vocations you’ll unlock are the two-handed weapon-wielding Warrior and the spell-weaving Sorcerer. They’re both unlocked through a quest you can get in Vernworth with slight variations. Here’s how to unlock Warrior and Sorcerer in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

You unlock the Warrior and Sorcerer Advanced Vocations by accepting a quest from Klaus at the Vocation Guild in Vernworth. To start the quest:

  • Go to the Vocation Guild and talk to Klaus.
  • Choose the Talk option, and he will notify you of the stolen Greatsword (Required for Warrior) and Archistave (Required for Sorcerer).
  • This prompts a quest that will direct you to Roderick in his Smithy in the town square.
  • Roderick will point you to the stolen weapons in the Trevo Mine.
  • Here’s the Trevo Mine location. I highly recommend you bring at least one side pawn, preferably a Mage for healing.
  • I would travel to the mine during the day. Once you reach it, you’ll have to defeat some Goblins in front of it.
  • Enter the mine and take a right at the crossroads (I prefer the right path because the left one is an ambush that you can approach from the back later).

  • Continue fighting Goblins until you reach an open area with a chest.
  • Open the chest to find the Greatsword, which unlocks the Warrior Vocation.

The Warrior Vocation is unlocked only after you bring the Greatsword to Klaus at the Vocation Guild. That said, I would keep adventuring through the Trevo Mine to find the Archistave for the Sorcerer as well.

To unlock the Sorcerer Vocation in Dragon’s Dogma 2, follow the previous steps to unlock the Warrior until the part where you find the Greatsword. From here:

  • Continue through the mine past the chest (Ignore the locked door in the chest area for now, as this is for a later main quest).
  • You’ll reach a vast open area full of Goblins and bridges.

  • Fight your way through to the lowest level.
  • Enter the small cavern opening as in the picture.

  • It’s a dead end that leads to a chest with the Archistave in it, which unlocks the Sorcerer Vocation once you bring it to Klaus at the Vocation Guild.
  • You now have the option of leaving the way you came or circling back to the entrance through the unexplored left path.
  • (Optional) If you choose to take the unexplored path, you’ll approach a Goblin ambush from the back. This makes the fight drastically easier than if you made a left at the beginning and got struck by rolling boulders.

Either way, you exit the mine, returning to Vernworth and the Vocation Guild. Talk to Klaus and turn in the Greatsword to unlock the Warrior Vocation and the Archistave to unlock the Sorcerer Vocation.

How to Change Vocation in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Once you’ve unlocked the Warrior and Sorcerer, changing Vocations is simple enough. Talk to Klaus, choose the “Change Vocation” option, and select the Vocation you want. All Vocations cost between 100 and 200 discipline points. Once you switch, you’ll get the Vocation’s starting weapon and gear for free. From there, you can start leveling up Advanced Vocations and mixing and matching their Augments.
