How to Use Fallen Embers in No Rest for the Wicked

Let's talk about what are Fallen Embers really for in No Rest for the Wicked.

You’ll likely pick up a lot of Fallen Embers as you play No Rest for the Wicked. Besides a vague description and a sell value, players are wondering what they are for. They actually have a secret purpose in the end game. Here’s how to use Fallen Embers in No Rest for the Wicked.

Fallen Embers are used to enter the Cerim Trials in the end game of the Early Access of No Rest for the Wicked. The Cerim Trials are unlocked through the Spoken and Unspoken quest towards the end of the game. It’s triggered in the town square when Roan gives you an old tome from the Rookery. To progress, you need to go to the underground ruins beneath the Mason’s Shop in the northwest part of Sacrament and speak with Elsa.

Once you’re there, finish the dialogue with Elsa and she’ll tell you that you need Fallen Embers to access the Cerim Trials. Interact with the nearby station, use a Fallen Ember, and descend with the middle platform to begin your first trial. This means that we need to save Fallen Embers for the late game. Yes, you can also sell them for 24 copper a piece which isn’t a bad source of income. However, I would save them for the end game since there are already a lot of ways to grind money.

You’ll likely have accumulated a dozen or so Fallen Embers in your journey. I found them across the map in chests, as random pick-ups, as loot from enemies, boss drops, etc. Overall, finishing Spoken and Unspoken ends the Early Acess along with reaching the Crucible and speaking to the Madrigal.

That’s how to use Fallen Embers in No Rest for the Wicked. For more No Rest for the Wicked guides, check out whether the game has co-op and crossplay.
