Immortals of Aveum: How to Solve Refract Prism Puzzles

A common sight in Immortals of Aveum, whether it’s inside a cave or on the surface, are the refract prism puzzles. Although the name isn’t provided until later, you know you’ve come across one if you’ve seen a statue hand holding a spiky and colored rock. This guide will go over how to solve refract prism puzzles and what you can earn from them.

How to Solve Prism Puzzles in Immortals of Aveum

You’ll need the Disrupt Control Spell and its Refract augment to properly interact with these puzzles. Using the Disrupt Lens on a spiky rock will then reflect two beams on the other side. Nearby there should be a pair of statues shaped like eyes, which you’ll need to hit.

The angle at which the two beams come out is inverse to the vertical direction you’re using the Disrupt Lens (i.e. aiming high will output the two beams low) as well as where on the rock you’re shooting at. Many of these puzzles involve an awkward shimmy as you try to get the best angle. Keep an eye out for any noticeable platforms nearby, as they might be the key to finding the right angle to complete the puzzle.

This is the basic method for solving any Refract Prism Puzzles you come across. Many will add on additional layers such as activating switches to open the statue eyes, different colored rocks, or the ability to change the height of certain elements. At their core, the puzzles remain pretty similar though.

Both the Disrupt spell and Refract Augment spell are provided throughout the story, with the latter being added in the eleventh mission, The Binding Mark. This means you’ll have to wait until then to be able to solve these puzzles as well as gain the ability to interact with the red crystals you can find growing on the ground.

What are the Rewards for Solving Prism Puzzles?

Each prism puzzle I’ve solved has rewarded me with Golden Chests and a few have also included special red Shroundfanes that allow me to fight one of The Six, a group of powerful endgame-level bosses. These bosses are the toughest fights in the game and provide additional rewards, so it’s a great idea to solve these puzzles when you can.
