Rumors have been circulating that Fortnite could be ditching its Zero Build modes, which allows players to play Battle Royale without the building mechanic. How much truth is there to these rumors? Here’s the quick and easy answer to whether or not Fortnite is getting rid of Zero Build.
Is Zero Build Getting Removed From Fortnite?
Despite the rumors, the straightforward answer to the question is — no, they aren’t removing Zero Build from the game. There has been no official statement from the Epic Games team about removing Zero Build. They haven’t mentioned any plans to change the current modes in the next season.
The rumors most likely started due to some April Fools’ pranks, but both reliable Fortnite leak sources, @Shiina and @iFireMonkey, have confirmed that it’s here to stay. Plus, with upcoming tournaments arriving, it’s evident that the mode will also be around for those.
With the Zero Build mode, many OG players have circled back to the experience. Plus, it brings in many fresh players who prefer a more level playing field. Removing the mode from the game would hurt Epic Games more than anything since they would likely lose some of that player base with it. Plus, with the rebranding to a multiverse-type platform, Zero Build fits in perfectly with its many game mode options. There really wouldn’t be a point for them to remove it unless there was a game-breaking fault to it.
If you enjoy Zero Build more than Build, there is no need to worry! These rumors don’t have any truth to them. If Epic Games happens to make an announcement, we’ll let you know.
