Palworld is an on-the-nose 3D monster-catching game. It shares some distinct similarities with Pokemon (though also some differences). It’s on PC and Xbox, but if you’re a PlayStation fan, you’re wondering if it’s coming out on PS4 or PS5.
Palworld PS4 and PS5 Release Plans: Will It Be on PlayStation?
Palworld isn’t on PS4 or PS5 at launch. It’s only available for PC, Xbox One, Series X|S, and Game Pass subscribers. Right now, we don’t know if it will be on PlayStation platforms in the future. In the announcements channel on Pocketpair’s official Discord server, the developers say there are no plans for a PS5 release. However, Pocketpair also says it “will consider [releasing Palworld on PS5] during development.”
Based on how Xbox and Game Pass exclusivity deals have worked in the past, I bet Palworld will release on PlayStation 5 at some point. Though, that’s at least a year from release.
If you’re typically a PlayStation gamer and have a PC, your Pals are ready on January 19 on Steam or the Microsoft Store. A monthly Game Pass subscription gives you access for cheaper than the $30 Early Access price, too. However, Palworld doesn’t have cross-progression yet, so know you can’t take your Pals to PlayStation later.
Palworld lets us not just befriend the game’s 113+ Pals, but also put them to work building, gathering resources, and just working themselves to the bone until they die. They’re also useful in combat, though that’s a little cliche. How many monster collecting and fighting games do we have by now? Sheesh!
Now that you know whether Palworld is coming out on PS4 or PS5, you can decide whether to take the plunge on PC or Xbox. I’ve seen some absurd stuff in the game so far, and there are plenty of silly things to do with friends.
