If you’ve just begun LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, you may be wondering how to save your game. After all, this is quite possibly the most content-rich LEGO game to date. The last thing you want to do is lose progress inadvertently because you thought it saved when it actually didn’t.
This quick guide details how the save system works in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.
How to Save in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga makes use of an autosave system, which works differently depending on whether you’re roaming one of its hub areas or playing through a story mission.
While exploring the open-world hubs, The Skywalker Saga automatically saves upon acquiring any collectible, such as a minikit or kyber brick. Autosave is indicated by a spinning lightsaber icon on the lower right corner of the screen.
In story missions, however, you don’t have as much of a safety net. Every story mission saves at the very start of the level, with autosave points coming infrequently. If you don’t have much time to sit down and commit, you might be better off progressing through hub areas, saving dedicated story missions for when you have more time.
There is technically a way to save manually, but it isn’t the most ideal solution. At any point during a mission, you can pause the game and quit to the main menu or quit the mission. Doing so will save all collectible progress. For example, if you collected two minikits, you won’t have to collect them again. However, upon returning to the mission, you’ll likely be set back to the start unless you happened to activate another autosave point.
