The Lords of the Fallen Sacred Resonance of Tenacity boss will shock you if you manage to encounter it at the wrong time. Apart from wearing a large bell as a helmet, his hard-hitting melee swings and explosive nova are enough to put your character down for the count. Our guide discusses how to beat the Sacred Resonance of Tenacity boss in the Pilgrim’s Perch zone.
How to Beat Sacred Resonance of Tenacity in Lords of the Fallen
To beat the Sacred Resonance of Tenacity, you need to be mindful of his attacks that cause both the bleeding and smite status effects that gradually deplete your health. Moreover, the boss has powerful but slow attacks that need to be avoided at all costs. Likewise, there are several cultist mobs in the area that will prove to be an annoyance if left alive, though the boss’ own AoE ability will likely kill them.
Where to Find the Sacred Resonance of Tenacity
You’ll meet the Lords of the Fallen Sacred Resonance of Tenacity boss in the upper section of the Pilgrim’s Perch zone, which is only accessible via the following:
- Purchase the Pilgrim’s Perch Key from Captain Stomund for 9,500 vigor.
- Unlock the door next to the Bellroom vestige waypoint.
- Traverse the area until you reach a decorated chamber with a prayer altar in the center.
In my playthrough, I accidentally fought the Sacred Resonance of Tenacity too early. I had purchased the Pilgrim’s Perch Key and ran past all the enemies that were tougher than usual, only to get trounced by the boss. I soon realized that I wasn’t meant to go to that particular area yet. Thankfully, I had a backup save prior to buying the key itself. I decided to face it much later after cleansing a couple of the game’s beacons.
Sacred Resonance of Tenacity Abilities
These are the abilities that you need to watch out for when facing the Lords of the Fallen Sacred Resonance of Tenacity:
- Immunity Orbs: There are two blue orbs that buff the boss’ defense, and they need to be siphoned using the Umbral Lamp. One usually floats next to the boss, and the other is in the middle of the prayer altar.
- Holy Infusion: Your foe will periodically empower his huge mallet with holy magic.
- Hammer Blow: Your opponent’s multi-hit combos usually end with a devastating ground smash that also causes a holy blast.
- Holy Nova: Whenever the boss thumps its chest, it will cast a nova explosion with a huge AoE.
The good thing about the Sacred Resonance of Tenacity is that his attacks are slow and easily telegraphed. That means you can attempt to parry everything in melee for a grievous blow counter, or run around the chamber while pelting him with arrows or spells.
His main offensive move that you need to watch out for is the Holy Nova. The good news is that it’s likely to kill the remaining cultist mobs. The bad news is that it might also kill any character with less than 500 HP (without any holy resistance). The only tell is the thumping action that he does, and you must immediately do a dodge roll to avoid the blast. Alternatively, fighting him from a distance still works as long as you’re out of the nova’s radius.
Sacred Resonance of Tenacity Rewards
Defeating the Sacred Resonance of Tenacity rewards you with the Sacred Resonance Hammer, a massive but slow weapon that can crush your enemies. You’ll also obtain a Vestige Seed, and you’ll later see more Sacred Resonance-type non-elites as you explore the game world.
In any case, that’s everything you need to know about how to beat the Sacred Resonance of Tenacity in Lords of the Fallen. For other tips and tactics, you can visit our LotF guides hub.
