How to Get Better Performance on PC in Lords of the Fallen (2023)

Adjust Display Settings

There are two visual setting menus in Lords of the Fallen. The first is display settings, which you can find and adjust under the “Display” tab in the “Settings” menu. The most optimal settings for better performance look like this:

  • Window Mode: Fullscreen
  • Resolution: Native
  • Resolution Scale: 50%
  • VSync: ON
  • FPS Limit: 60 FPS
  • Screen Calibration: Calibrate
  • NVidia DLSS: NO
  • NVidia Reflex Low Latency: ON
  • AMD FSR: NO

Adjust Graphics Settings

The other visual settings menu can be found and adjusted under the “Graphics” tab in the same menu as before. Select the following settings for best performance:

  • View Distance: Medium
  • Shadows: Low
  • Anti-Aliasing: Medium
  • Texture Quality: Medium
  • Visual Effect Quality: Low
  • Post Processing Quality: Medium
  • Reflection Quality: Low
  • Global Illumination Quality: Low
  • Foliage Quality: Medium
  • Motion Blur: OFF

If you have a high-end PC, then I’d try playing with these settings and use “Medium” instead of “Low” and “High” instead of “Medium.” You’ll see for yourself how well your game performs, and if it’s still laggy, then use the settings listed above without any changes.

Best GPU Settings for NVidia and AMD

NVidia GeForce Settings

Players who use the NVidia GPU can improve their performance by making the following changes in the NVidia control panel:

  • Image Scaling: ON
  • Triple Buffering: ON
  • Ambient Occlusion: Performance
  • Anisotropic Filtering: Application Controlled
  • Antialiasing FXAA: OFF
  • Antialiasing Mode: Application Controlled
  • Antialiasing Transparency: OFF
  • Low Latency Mode: Ultra
  • Optimize for Computer Performance: ON

Laptop users should also set “Power Management Mode” to “Maximum Performance“.

AMD Radeon Settings

AMD GPU owners should apply the following settings:

  • Anti-Lag: ON
  • Image Sharpening: ON
  • Vertical Refresh: OFF
  • AA Method: Multi Sampling

Disable Fullscreen Optimization

Many new PC games have a problem with fullscreen optimization, so if you play Lords of the Fallen on Steam and you notice that it doesn’t perform well in Fullscreen mode, then here’s a working solution to that issue:

  1. Press the Start button in Windows.
  2. Type in “Lords of the Fallen” in the search box.
  3. Right-click on the Lords of the Fallen application.
  4. Select “Open folder with this file” option.
  5. Right-click on executable file.
  6. Select “Properties” option.
  7. Go to “Compatibility” tab.
  8. Check “Disable fullscreen optimization” option.

Additionally, you could change the in-game window settings to “Windowed Borderless.” Also, try to lower your resolution if you need an extra 5-10 FPS.

Set the Game’s Priority to High

The last thing you can do is set the game’s priority to “High” in the Task Manager. Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc key combination.
  2. Go to “Details” tab.
  3. Right-click on Lords of the Fallen.
  4. Set “High” in the “Set Priority” field.
