Here’s a quick breakdown of our Top 10 best armor sets in Lords of the Fallen:

Tancred’s Set

This is the heaviest armor set in the game, but it provides players with the highest physical defense of all. It also has strong protection against fire damage, so if you’re looking for the best heavy armor in LotF, then there’s no better option than Tancred’s armor.

  • How to get Tancred’s Set:
    1. Defeat Tancred, Master of Castigations and Reinhold, the Immured bosses at the Tower of Penance.
    2. Soulflay Tancred’s and Reinhold’s Stigma for it to drop the Remembrance of Tancred and Reinhold.
    3. Give the Remembrance to Molhu at Skyrest Bridge in exchange for this armor set.

Sovereign Protector Set

One of the best armor sets against physical damage is the Sovereign Protector set. Although Tancred’s armor has an even higher physical defense stat, it’s much heavier and has weak holy protection. Whereas the Sovereign armor has much more balanced defensive stats against all types of damage, and it’s a lot easier to obtain.

  • How to get Sovereign Protector Set: Find it inside a chest behind the barrels at the Sunless Skein mines.

Judge Cleric’s Set

If you’re looking at building a Radiance character, then you absolutely need to get the Judge Cleric’s armor, which has the highest holy protection in the game. It also grants powerful protection against bleeding and smite attacks.

  • How to get Judge Cleric’s Set:
    1. Defeat Judge Cleric, the Radiant Sentinel boss at The Empyrean.
    2. Soulflay her Stigma for it to drop the Remembrance of Judge Cleric, The Radiant Sentinel.
    3. Give the Remembrance to Molhu at Skyrest Bridge in exchange for this armor set.

Lightreaper’s Set

Although Tancred’s set is strong against fire damage, not all players would want to wear such heavy armor. That’s why I highly recommend picking up the Lightreaper’s armor, which is relatively light and has very strong defensive stats against burn and ignite types of damage.

  • How to get Lightreaper’s Set:
    1. Defeat The Lightreaper boss at the Defiled Sepulchre, Fitzroys Gorge, or Upper Calrath.
    2. Soulflay his Stigma for it to drop the Remembrance of The Lightreaper.
    3. Give the Remembrance to Molhu at Skyrest Bridge in exchange for this armor set.

Harrower Set

There’s a unique Wither magic in LotF that combines Radiance and Inferno magic. The Harrower set has the best defense against Wither magic, which heavily relies on frost and poison damage. It also has high physical protection, although it’s pretty heavy armor.

  • How to get Harrower Set:
    1. Defeat Harrower Dervla, the Pledged Knight and The Unbroken Promise bosses at the Revelation Depths.
    2. Soulflay The Unbroken Promise’s Stigma for it to drop the Remembrance of The Unbroken Promise.
    3. Give the Remembrance to Molhu at Skyrest Bridge in exchange for this armor set.

Elianne the Starved’s Set

If you like the idea of having solid protection from the Wither magic, but you find Harrower armor a bit too heavy for your character, then the next best choice would be Elianne the Starved’s armor. This armor is particularly strong against frost damage.

  • How to get Elianne the Starved’s Set:
    1. Defeat Elianne, the Starved boss at Mother’s Lull.
    2. Soulflay her Stigma for it to drop the Remembrance of Elianne, the Starved.
    3. Give the Remembrance to Molhu at Skyrest Bridge in exchange for this armor set.

Fitzroy’s Set

The armor of Fitzroy is the best one against poison damage. It also has high physical protection, but it does make it one of the heaviest armors in the game. I’d also pick Fitzroy’s set just because it doesn’t require you to fight any overpowered bosses to obtain it.

  • How to get Fitzroy’s Set: Find it inside the chest atop the tower with an Animated Vigor Skull at the Fitzroy’s Gorge area.

Pieta’s Set

You could easily compare this armor to the Judge Cleric’s armor, which grants solid protection against holy damage. But it’s much lighter than Judge Cleric’s set, which makes it more suitable for Radiance-focused builds.

  • How to get Pieta’s Set:
    1. Defeat Pieta, She of Blessed Renewal boss at the Skyrest Bridge.
    2. Soulflay her Stigma for it to drop the Remembrance of Pieta, She of Blessed Renewal.
    3. Give the Remembrance to Molhu at Skyrest Bridge in exchange for this armor set.

Ruiner Set

Here’s another excellent alternative, but this time to the Lightreaper set, which provides hefty protection against fire damage. Some players may find it difficult to go against The Lightreaper boss at the earlier stages of the game, so I’d suggest picking the Ruiner armor set instead, which has similar stats.

  • How to get Ruiner Set: Defeat the Ruiner mini-boss at the Fitzroy’s Gorge.

Cursed Set

Only a few sets in LotF combine various defensive stats with such a neat balance as the Cursed set, which provides excellent protection against both physical and wither damage. The Cursed set may be on the heavier side, but it’s not that hard to obtain.

  • How to get Cursed Set: You need to Soulflay the Umbral Belly, which you can find past the Umbral Tumor and the Bone Bridge at the Manse of the Hallowed Brothers.
