Madden 24: EA Unable to Connect Error Details

Here's what it means if you run into the EA Unable to Connect error in Madden 24.

The next installment in EA’s perennial football franchise is out. Those who have pre-ordered the game can hit the ground running a few days early. However, they might get stopped short of the chains. Indeed, a few holes in EA’s offensive line mean some issues are slipping through and keeping players from taking the field. Here are some possible audibles to call if you run into the EA Unable to Connect Error in Madden 24.

The EA Unable to Connect error shows up in Madden 24 when the servers are experiencing issues. Typically, this is when the servers are down. This could be because of scheduled maintenance or because of an influx of players. Either could be the cause at launch, but that doesn’t make running into a brick wall when trying to play any easier.

I ran into this issue when trying to play the trial for the second time on the PC during the pre-order early access launch. The game booted up, and I initially received a message that I had been “disconnected from the server.” You must be online to play the trial. I was then met with the EA Unable to Connect message immediately after. However, it’s also happened to those on PlayStation and Xbox platforms, and to those playing the full game.

How to Potentially Fix EA Unable to Connect

  • Wait for the servers to come back online.
  • Wait for the server load to decrease/play when fewer players are online.
  • Exit Madden 24 and restart the application.
  • Exit the EA launcher, close it, and restart it.
  • Restart your PC, PlayStation, or Xbox.
  • Check your internet connection.
  • Reset your router.

If you go to the URL given by the error message, you’ll land on an EA support page that gives instructions for finding the current Madden 24 server status based on your platform. Unfortunately, I didn’t find them helpful at launch (maybe that will change). As with any of these things, check the official Twitter (X) account for updates, and take a look at Down Detector when running into issues. Doing so confirms the problems aren’t on your end.

Those are the details on the EA Unable to Connect error in Madden 24. I only had to wait a short time before I was back on the field, and hopefully, it will be the same for you.
