Mass Effect Andromeda “Making an Impression” Quest Guide

Need to know how to get and complete the Making an Impression quest in Mass Effect Andromeda? This guide has what you need!
This article is over 7 years old and may contain outdated information

Mass Effect Andromeda has a ton of side quests, so it is easy to miss some or pass on doing some of them. The Eos radiation also makes doing certain quests impossible until later on. The “Making an Impression” quest is one everyone should do. Be warned that this guide will have spoilers and this quest has a big surprise at the end.

How to Get the “Making an Impression” Quest

This is a quest on the planet Eos, but it only available once the radiation has been cleared. Once you complete the story on Eos, and reset the vault, the radiation becomes less. This is not the end as you will need to come back later when all the radiation is cleared.

Leave the planet and continue on with the story. After a short time, you will be able to go back to Eos to see how it is improved. Kallo mentions going back at some point, so you will know for sure when it is safe.

Once you return, you will notice the atmosphere has significantly improved. There is no radiation and more of the map will be opened to you. You will also get more quests — particularly the “Making an Impression quest” from the outpost Prodromos.

Completing Making an Impression

This quests involves placing survey hammers at different locations to find out why there has been so many tremors on Eos. Simply go to the marked locations and defeat any enemies in your way.

After the second hammer, you will notice a nearby site. Talk to the person there to find out there are settlers living by themselves far away from Prodromos. This gives you the option to drill for Natural Gas, or Water.

Drilling for natural gas could hurt the atmosphere, but it will be many years into the future. Doing this will allow these settlers to trade with Prodromos and increase their survival.

Drilling for water will give Prodromos what they need, but doom the settlers because they need that water to remain separate.

I haven’t seen the consequences of this choice yet, so it might be more about what kind of legacy you want to leave on Eos.

The Eos Architect

Once you make your decision, you will have to investigate a nearby Remnant site and boy are you in for a surprise when you do.

The remnant pieces in the ground turn out to be a colossal machine, called an Architect, that you must defeat. This is a very tough fight, but there are a few things you can do to make it easier.

Use Disruptor Ammo and skills that do extra damage to shield/synthetics like Overload

Remnant are synthetics, even this huge Architect, which means these will do more damage.

Aim for the weak spots on the legs

You will need to damage the legs enough to make the head vulnerable. Be sure to aim for the weak spots on the head when it appears. Sniper Rifles and long-range weapons are your friends.

Be sure to stay in cover, and move across the lad to hit other legs

This enemy hits hard so you will want an escape plan at all times. You can also get hit while in certain cover, so be ready to move.

Be aware that there will also be smaller Remnant enemies that will spawn throughout the fight, so be sure to take them out.

After you defeat it, you will get a Fusion mod to use in chest armor. This one is called, “Mod of Biotic Mastery”. It increases Biotic power damage by 30% and reduces all other damage by 20%.

That may seem like a big decrease, but there is a cryo pod unlock you can get that reduces the negative effects of Fusion Mods by half.

That’s all you need to know about the Making an Impression quest in Mass Effect Andromeda. Let me know if you have any questions!
