Monster Hunter World Powercharm & Armorcharm Guide

Even though they'll cost you 60K, the Powercharm and Armorcharm will grant you a hefty buff in attack and defense you won't want to miss out on.

After defeating Zorah Magdaros and reaching Hunter Rank 6 or higher in Monster Hunter: World, you will see two new items appear in the provisions vendor sporting a hefty price tag. The Powercharm and the Armorcharm might seem like overpriced items at first glance, but equip these bad boys and you’ll get an attack and defense buff your opponents won’t see coming.

What is the Powercharm & Armorcharm?

These Monster Hunter World charms will grant you an attack buff of eight and defense buff of 12, respectively, just by carrying these items in your inventory. Depending on your weapon multiplier, this could mean the difference between victory and defeat in upcoming hunts.

How to Upgrade the Powercharm & Armorcharm

Once you are able to face a high-rank Bazelgeuse in Monster Hunter World, there is a chance that he will drop Bazel Talons, which you will need in conjunction with the Powercharm and Armorcharm to craft the Powertalon and Armortalon.

Once you purchase your first set of charms, you’ll want to make sure to place the Bazel talons in the same place as the charms. From there, you can combine the charms with the talons to form one Powertalon and one Armortalon each. The Powertalon can beef up your ATK by 13, and the Armortalon can increase your DEF by 18.

Tip: If you’re having trouble finding Bazelgeuse, fight a large monster in areas where you find Wyverns (i.e., Wildspire Waste) and he might start fighting your target in a turf war. Aim for the head and remember he’s weak against Thunder.

Are Powertalons & Armortalons Stackable?

Thank heavens, yes. The game won’t let you equip two of the Powercharms or Armorcharms, but after upgrading them to their Tier II versions, you can stack the attack/defense boost that comes from each upgraded charm. In other words, craft the Powertalon and Armortalon, then return to the provisions vendor to purchase another Powercharm and Armorcharm. Doing so will grant you anywhere from a 10% to 50% increase in ATK/DEF.

This also means any items that already give you a boost, such as potions or food — or specific items like Armorskin, which bump up damage — will be additive to the Powertalon and Armortalon, as well as the Powercharm and Armorcharm buffs.

Both of these items are pricey, setting you back a whopping 60K, but vets of the Monster Hunter franchise know they are invaluable, especially now that they are stackable.
