Monster Never Cry Best Characters Ranked

Monster Never Cry SS-Tier Characters

Octasia, Squid Sorcerer

  • ATK: 50,508
  • DEF: 10,118
  • HP: 811,611

Octasia’s main role is that of healer, but as it turns out, she can also deal significant damage, which makes her easily the top choice for any party. Try to unlock her as soon as possible, and keep her on your team until the end of the game. She’s that good! Her Invincible Storm ability not only heals all her allies but also grants them protective shields. I’d keep her in the back row and use such ranged attacks as Turbidity and Abyssal Tentacle to deal 100% and 70% of the attack power, respectively.

Lilith, Vampire Princess

  • ATK: 57,289
  • DEF: 10,893
  • HP: 696,172

Lilith is pure magic DPS with some truly powerful attacks. Pair her up with Octasia, and you’ll have the best couple of monsters in the whole game. Lilith’s best skill is Crimson Dream, which deals 240% magic damage to all enemies. But I also like her Red Butterfly attack, which hits two random enemies for 140% damage and steals 5% of their attack power. This ability is quite useful as it functions as both a buff and debuff spell simultaneously.

Monster Never Cry S-Tier Characters

Zenobia, Crimson Wing

  • ATK: 48,100
  • DEF: 12,107
  • HP: 847,610

Zenobia is not your typical DPS character due to her Awakened Bloodline passive. This skill protects her from death by sending her into the Grievous Wound status. What does it mean? Well, once she receives lethal damage, she leaves the battlefield for a short time, restoring her HP from 0% to 60%. Then, she automatically returns to the battlefield like nothing happened, so you’ll be missing her only for a few moments. Then, you can use her excellent damage skills, such as Warth of the Lord and Vanguard of Valor.

SynderHelden, Chaotic Devil Dragon

  • ATK: 55,993
  • DEF: 11,447
  • HP: 677,353

SynderHelden is the fire and ice dragon that combines both of these magic elements to deal not only lots of damage but also debuff enemies. If I need to slow down my foes, I can use his Fire and Ice Spit, which deals 350% magic AoE damage and reduces the haste of all enemies by 10 points. Alternatively, I could simply use an Ice Ball or Bursting Fireball and deal with each enemy separately. In either case, the damage is high enough to instantly defeat almost all of those enemies that are weak to the fire and ice elements.

Avanzo, Cruel Chimera

  • ATK: 42,260
  • DEF: 13,919
  • HP: 1,025,810

Avanzo is a tanky character with the ability to debuff enemies and shield himself. The fun part about this monster is that his attack grows the more damage he receives. For example, if I use his Supreme Tyranny Skill, he starts dealing physical damage equal to 320% of his attack power when he experiences significant HP losses. In case I need to reduce the enemy’s attack powers, I can apply his Fangs skill, which debuffs the damage of all enemies by 40%.

Monster Never Cry A-Tier Characters

Coronis, The Guardian Crow

  • ATK: 51,211
  • DEF: 9,946
  • HP: 641,069

Coronis is similar to Avanzo, occupying the same role as DPS, with debuffs in the party. But since her HP is way lower, I put her in the A-tier. She’s also a bit of the opposite of Avanzo, who gains power when his HP is low, whereas Coronis gains more power when her HP is high. This is another factor that made me lower her tier a bit. But besides that, she’s got some very strong attacks, such as Crow Dance and Shadowy Shroud. The latter also inflicts the Fear status effect on enemies, which is very effective against bosses.

Undine, Guardian of Elements

  • ATK: 49,986
  • DEF: 10,200
  • HP: 640,473

Undine is another cool magic DPS character who focuses on dealing critical damage. Try out her Water of Life magic attack, which deals 400% magic AoE damage to all enemies. Note that this skill requires some time to charge up, so you won’t be able to spam, but it’s definitely very powerful. Another one I’d like to mention is the Bubble, which hits a single target for 100% magic damage and, at the same time, restores 100-200 points of energy to one of your allies.

Dullahan, Ghostly Knight

  • ATK: 40,434
  • DEF: 13,952
  • HP: 1,068,761

If you’re looking for a solid tank and you still haven’t unlocked Avanzo, then be sure to pick up Dullahan. Besides having one of the largest HP pools in the game, he gains damage immunity with practically all of his attacks. His best one is Fearless Charge, which deals 138% physical damage to random enemies while taunting them. His other two moves are Trample, which stuns enemies, and Sweep, which restores his HP, are also very good.

Monster Never Cry B-Tier Characters

Dracula, Earl of Rose

  • ATK: 49,960
  • DEF: 12,390
  • HP: 797,704

Dracula is a master of combo attacks and life-stealing. His drain ability is aptly called Bloodthirsty, stealing 50 points of energy and the enemy’s HP equal to 220% of your attack power. Another one of his best attacks is Stab Combo, which deals 156% physical damage to a single target. His AoE attack is called Sonic Rush, but I find its random character a bit underwhelming, although it can definitely be useful in dire situations.

Kukulkan, Shaman of Void

  • ATK: 50,769
  • DEF: 9,909
  • HP: 824,707

Kukulkan could be a solid alternative to Octasia, with his own healing skills and some cool attacks. I recommend combining his Molting and Plunge Throw abilities, as one heals you while the other increases your healing powers. His other two abilities are simple single-target and AoE attacks, such as Feathered Blade and Hovering, but they do the job, so be sure to use them whenever you can.

Sarcophagurl, Mech Maiden

  • ATK: 37,134
  • DEF: 12,992
  • HP: 939,994

Lastly, Sarcophagurl is a character who has the ability to reduce cooldown times and gain damage immunity. Her stats could be better, but she does look appealing with such skills as Alert, which reduces her cooldown times by 14% every time she’s being attacked. Use this to instantly cast Earth Shock and Hammer Strike attacks on your foes completely unexpectedly.

That’s it for my tier list of the best characters in Monster Never Cry. Stay tuned for more MNC tips and tricks articles here.
