Mortal Kombat 1 is just a little more than a month away. We’ve learned a lot about NetherRealm’s soft reboot of the series and the repercussions of Fire God Liu Kang resetting the timeline after defeating Kronika in MK11. But if you’re like me, you want to go hands-on with the game before its release. Here are the Mortal Kombat 1 beta sign up details.

How to Sign Up for the MK1 Beta
The upcoming Mortal Kombat 1 beta is only available for those who pre-order the PS5 or Xbox Series X|S versions. Which edition you pre-order (Standard, Premium, or Kollector’s) doesn’t matter. You’ll gain access either way.
If you’re on the fence and haven’t already secured your copy of MK1, you won’t be able to participate. Furthermore, we do want to highlight that the beta is only going to be held on the specific mentioned platforms. Those who pre-order the PC or Nintendo Switch versions will not be able to participate either.
MK1 Beta Date and Time
You’ll be able to join and play the beta from Friday, August 18 at 8 a.m. PDT – Monday, August 21 at 8 a.m. PDT. Those who get an early digital version will be able to pre-load the Mortal Kombat 1 beta starting on Tuesday, August 15 at 8 a.m. PDT.
There’s a slightly lengthier process if you pre-purchased through a retailer. You’ll need to create a WB Games Account, enter a provided code from the retailer, and then redeem a separate platform-specific code to input on your console. This last code won’t be redeemable until the same time that everyone else can begin pre-loading, though.
Confirmed MK1 Beta Stages
This MK1 beta will feature two stages: The Teahouse and Johnny Cage’s Mansion. These are the same two stages that were present in the Mortal Kombat 1 online stress test.
Confirmed Beta Fighters and Kameos
The selection of fighters and kameos will be very similar to the online stress test as well, albeit with a few more additions. Sadly, it won’t include any of the MK1 characters revealed at EVO. These are the fighters and kameos confirmed for the MK1 beta:
