New World: How to Craft Voidbent Armor and Where to Find Materials

Get your hands on New World's endgame Voidbent armor with help from this guide.

New World’s endgame gear will take you quite a while to acquire, but the benefits are well worth it. Voidbent armor is some of the best you can craft even outside of the game’s dungeons and world events, but don’t expect to make it quickly or without a great expense of time and effort.

Just to find Void Ore, you need to level your Mining skill to 175 to harvest Orichalcum ore, and like Fae Iron, you’ll need your fair share of luck to gather enough of the stuff to make Voidbent Ingots. Or you might want to make Voidbent Ingots, but there are equally rare and grind-filled requirements to craft even one of them.

In this guide, we’ll go over how to get all the materials you need to craft Voidbent Ingots, then everything else you need to make the Voidbent Armor.

How to Craft Voidbent Ingots

You need three ingredients to create a single Voidbent Ingot.

  • Void Ore. As noted above, Void Ore is a rare drop from Orichalcum Veins, which you’ll find primarily in the Great Cleave and Shattered Mountain regions in the northwest of Aeternum. There’s also a good amount of them in the western portions of the Ebonscale Reach, particularly the peninsula and island reaching out into the sea. Boost your Luck stat using the methods outlined in our Fae Iron guide, but this time with endgame items.
  • Void Essence. Another rare drop, this time from Elite Ancient Chests, Elite Supply Chests, and Supply Stockpiles. These are the large chest variants you’ll find on Aeternum, with the best loot coming from the various Expedition dungeons you’ll go through during the campaign.
  • 10 Energy Cores. You can make this material using one Elemental Core and one Elemental Heart, so get your Motes ready for smelting.

Note that until you have Void Ore, you won’t even have the recipe for Voidbent Ingots.

How to Craft Voidbent Gear

Having the Voidbent Ingots is only step one. The armor requires multiple expensive and rare materials in varying quantities. You’ll also need to have Armoring at level 200 to craft any of the Voidbent gear.

Important Note: One of the necessary items to craft Voidbent light armor, Runic Thread, is not currently in almost any enemy loot pools as of patch 1.03. It may drop from the Pride of the Trees elite bear mob near the Eternal Pool in Reekwater.

Light Voidbent Armor: Voidbent Robes, etc.
  • 1 Voidbent Ingot. See above.
  • Phoenixweave. You’ll need between six and 26 units of Phoenixweave per armor piece, with the most expensive being the cuirass and the least being the gloves and boots. You can acquire Phoenixweave either as a rare drop from Silk plants or by crafting it from Infused Silk, Wireweave, and two ingredients you’ll use for Voidbent gear outside the Phoenixweave recipe: Scalecloth and Blisterweave. We cover both below.
  • Scalecloth. Collect this as a rare drop from Wirefiber or Supply Crates, Coffers, and other lootable boxes in level 58+ points of interest.
  • Blisterweave. As with Scalecloth, Blistereweave is a rare drop from Wirefiber and comes in collections of 2-4 from Supply Crates and Caches in level 58+ points of interest.
  • Runic Leather. You’ll need between 2 and 8 units of Runic Leather for the cloth Voidbent armor. Craft it from 5 Infused Leather, 1 Smolderhide and 1 Scarhide from level 55+ wolves, and 1 Aged Tannin.
  • Runic Thread. See note above.
  • Asmodeum. To get your hands on this powerful Ingot, you need 5 ingots of Orichalcum, 1 Obsidian Flux, 2 Charcoal, and two other rare drops from Orichalcum Veins: Tolvium and Cinnabar. Hopefully, you get your Void Ore somewhere in your farming.
Heavy Voidbent Gear: Breastplate, etc.

The heavy Voidbent gear needs essentially the same materials as the light armor but in different quantities. You need significantly more Asmodeum, up to 26 units, but much less Phoenixweave, with the Breastplate only needing 7 units.

There are three different core ingredients here: Tovlium and Cinnabar instead of Scalecloth and Blisterweave, plus Infused Fur from furry animals in level 54+ areas.

Light Voidbent Gear: Coat, etc.

The medium Voidbent has a third set of different core ingredients: Infused Fangs and Claws from furry animals at level 54 and up, plus Scarhide. Scarhide comes from animals level 55 and up.

As with the other armor types, you’ll need varying amounts of ingredients, and lots and lots of Runic Leather, up to 26 units for the chest piece.

That’s how you get your hands on the Voidbent gear in New World. At least the versions that might be literally impossible to achieve right now.
